We had the good fortune of connecting with Kellie Kauten and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kellie, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Education is the number one item we focus on which people may not be aware of the importance. The CBD and cannabis industry has a significant amount of misinformation. My staff and I focus on educating the customer on all aspects of the industry. I travel around the country visiting farms, conventions, manufacturers, and stores. The knowledge from these visits I share with our customers. We educate on growing practices, how to pick the correct product, how different plant strains effect the body, and what to expect when taking a product. Each product is unique and should be matched with the lifestyle and goals of the client. Artistic Organics focuses on quality products and we vet every product and every company thoroughly before it ever touches our shelves. Our google reviews reflect our care and focus on education.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Artistic Organics was one of the very first CBD stores in the N. Dallas area. I opened the store to focus on high-quality products and education. We specialize in craft CBD from a variety of growers from around the country. All products are grown and manufactured here in the US. I personally know all of our growers and manufactures and visit them regularly. This personal relationship is vital in this industry. We are in an industry full of misinformation and low-quality products. It’s very common for customers to ask us ‘I tried another product and it didn’t work. Why does yours work so well for me?’. Our answer is “We match high quality products to your needs. Some products/plant strains are better at helping with certain conditions. We focus on finding those products and matching them to your lifestyle and need.” We are all certified and highly educated in the CBD and Cannabis industry. Not only do we take the time to educate and answer any question, but we write blogs, post on social media and hold in-person classes. Our goal is to educate and help people heal their bodies and feel better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
DFW is very diverse. I’d start in Ft Worth and visit the stockyards and museums. Then onto Grapevine for a train ride. From there I’d suggest the 5th floor and to eat at The End. From there a trip through Addison… hopping from restaurant to restaurant… sampling the different places. Don’t forget the music and comedy clubs. Personally I map out this trip and match it to the top rated Zagat places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Success in any business and life in general takes a strong personality and the support of those around you. My family is always positive and willing to jump in and help. Since owning my own business takes a lot of my time, my friends and family encourage me and have always been very supportive. I couldn’t do this without them!
