Meet Kristen Jarvis | Owner/Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Jarvis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I love being creative and at the suggestion of others I took a chance and went to school and fully committed to an esthetics career. Then I fell in love with how I was making people feel, they were excited, they were happy, they were shocked at their transformations in such a great way that I really enjoyed doing that for these people. Then it became more about what can I do for people to make them feel better while also making them look better.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my business with basically no clients, no money no marketing no social media. I just knew I wanted to do it and I had a passion deep down in me. I didn’t want to work for someone else and it was challenging, it was very hard for a little while. I showed up everyday , I took some type of education every week on my day off, I hustled just to get enough money to pay rent every single week, and started all over again the next week. I never gave up on my vision, I talked to people, emailed, networking events, everything, I just refused to give up on what I knew I was capable of.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Grapevine so if it’s during Christmas, we would need the whole week to spend on everything Christmas and Grapevine because it is the Christmas capital of Texas and it’s amazing! I would still probably hit up most of Main Street and the wineries I would definitely go to Bohemian Bull for their fried mac & cheese bites and truffle burger. It’s amazing. The stockyards in Fort Worth is a must, and then the JFK/6th Floor museum in Dallas. There’s so many local places that are amazing and tucked away that we couldn’t get it all done in a week!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout out to my parents because in the toughest of times they were my biggest cheerleaders and my mom was probably my first paying client for facials so, shout out to moms everywhere for helping their children launch their careers.
