We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirsten Deleon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kirsten, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My transition from being a corporate professional to a stay-at-home mom, and eventually pursuing the path of entrepreneurship, has given my family and me a healthier work-life balance. My desire for flexibility in work hours, the ability to spend more time with my family, and the pursuit of personal passions is what really drove me to start my own business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my ability to offer a craft that brings joy to others in some of their most special life moments. I have the opportunity to bring my clients’ vision to life by carefully listening and encouraging them to tap into their creativity to achieve a satisfying outcome. The greatest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that success is measured differently from one person to another. It’s not about cornering a market or ranking at the top of Google searches. It’s about offering a positive experience that encourages others to tell a friend, relative, or neighbor about your business. At House of Reese, we take immense pride in being a family-owned business dedicated to delivering exceptional quality in every design we create. Our passion shines through in each handcrafted Charcuterie Board and Custom Balloon Design, reflecting our commitment to artistry and detail. We are grateful for your support and for being a cherished part of our family!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a proud native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I can confidently say that Parker County feels like home. When it comes to indulging in authentic Mexican cuisine, Fort Worth boasts some exceptional dining options. One standout is Esperanza’s Restaurant & Bakery, which is conveniently located in the vibrant heart of The Fort Worth Stockyards.

Another local gem is Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen, situated on the outskirts of Springtown, TX. This restaurant has quickly become a family favorite for its inviting hospitality and mouthwatering dishes that celebrate traditional Mexican cooking.

If you’re seeking engaging activities while supporting local businesses, there are plenty of options to consider. For a delightful hands-on experience, why not take a charcuterie workshop with us at House of Reese, or cookie decorating class at Maw-Maw’s Treats? It’s a fun way to learn new skills while enjoying a delicious creation.

Additionally, exploring our charming antique shops offers a unique shopping experience filled with treasures waiting to be discovered. These shops not only provide an opportunity to find one-of-a-kind items but also support the local economy.

Whether you’re indulging in authentic Mexican food or participating in enjoyable local activities, Parker County and Fort Worth have something for everyone to enjoy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
During moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, my family has always provided the emotional support I needed to keep moving forward. Their unwavering faith in me has been a consistent source of motivation and strength. I want to express to them how much their love and encouragement mean to me as I continue on this path.
