We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Woodard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I went into starting my business I knew I wanted a career but did not want to give up on having a family. After 3 yrs in my career I had my first child. I selected to have a nanny at my home so I could enjoy time with my son while I was not working but have someone there to assist me at times I needed to work or head out for meetings. I always setup time in the week to do mommy and me classes with my sons and then as they went off to school I made sure to be involved in their schools ranging in a number of volunteer opportunities. I wanted to make sure I was present in both my sons lives. As both my boys are now in high school, things are different but I will say my advice is put your family activities in your calendar, its an appointment just like your work appointments. Arrange your schedule accordingly, don’t sacrifice your family for an appointment; as business will come and go; if you use your scheduling skills right you don’t have to share with anyone what your appointment is, just you have something at that time what other time is good….Remember, family is there for you all the time and you don’t want to miss those precious moments.

What should our readers know about your business?
My passion and love is real estate. I so much enjoy assisting people with finding them their new home or selling their current one, & getting them to their new chapter in life. A home is something that is an emotional decision to sell or buy and has much more connections than anything else in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The North Dallas Areas has so many wonderful places to visit from White Rock Lake and the Arboretum, to Fort Worth Stock Yards, Highland Park Village for Shopping to Shops of Legacy/Legacy West for some night life. So much for someone to experience and so many fun places to go in this area. Hard to select just one!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I like to thank my parents for raising me to go after my dreams and don’t let anyone stand in my way of accomplishing what I sought out to do. My husband for encouraging me to go into Real Estate over 20 yrs ago & having faith in me that I would build a successful business.
