We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerry Bleu Scy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerry Bleu, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk as a building block to shape the life you want. Some risks can be very rewarding. A risk I’ve taken is deciding to become a parent. At the time, I was 22 and living with my parents, had a job making 12 dollars and hour and nothing really going for myself. I had to figure our how to raise her essentially by myself as far as finances go, but my parent’s did help a lot by providing money as needed and watching her when I really needed them to. But, taking that risk motivated me to get a better job and make a better life, and I feel like starting my business is another wonderful thing that was born from that motivation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My makeup artistry definitely keeps me busy. I’m constantly thinking of ideas for looks ,researching products or creating content for social media. I got to this point by continuously studying cosmetology as well as hours/days worth of makeup tutorials , articles and practice to hone my craft. I enjoy what I do very much.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting the area, the first place I would take them would be the different gardens in Fort Worth (water, rose,Japanese) since I grew up there and visited them all the time. For lunch, we’d have burgers at The Love Shack in the Stockyards. I would then take them to the Dallas Museum of Art and Perot Museum the next day and have lunch at El Fenix. On the third day, we’d hang out at Hurricane Harbor to beat the heat and have food at the concession stand. The 4th day, we would go to The Dallas Botanical Gardens and then eat at La Madeline and the last day, we would just drive around and find random things to do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family and friends who supported me and kept me going. I specifically want to thank my daughter, who encouraged me to follow my dreams, my grandfather who started my love of cosmetology by taking me to get my nails done as a kid, my mother, who taught me how to be a businesswoman, my step-dad for sharing his special effects wisdom, my dad who has always encouraged me no matter what and provided good advice when I had no idea what to do and my nana, who helped birth a love of fashion and beauty from a very young age.
