We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelli Byrdsong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelli, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?

The most important lesson my business/career has taught me is consistency and patience. I’ve learned you have to stay consistent in anything you want to grow. Running a successful business takes time. Entrepreneurship is agreeing to take the road less traveled while having faith that it will be a success. My career/ business has definitely taught me patience. In the process of growing my business/ clientele is where I learned all the valuable lessons. In the process I’ve learned what and what not to do. To have longevity in this industry you have to stay consistent and create ways to step out the box.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

One thing that sets my business apart from others is, I have multiple locations. I’m located in east Texas, Longview, as well as in the DFW area in Carrollton, Texas. The Carrollton location is located inside of Midway Salon Suites where we are the ONLY salon that is also a beauty supply. Gorgeous Everytime Hair Salon offers wigs, bundles, styling tools, chemicals. and the necessary products needed to maintain their hairstyle. This is convenient for the client and the other stylists/barbers that work at the salon suites. We are known for our reusable hair extensions and variety of textures. Operating at 2 different locations in 2 different cities is definitely a hard task. Staying organized and hiring help has taken the stress away and allowed me to operate at 2 locations successfully. When first starting my business, I found myself getting burnt out by trying to do everything myself. That’s one mistake entrepreneurs often make. You have to hire help so you can focus on other things.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So we would start off with brunch. I would take my friend to Breadwinners. Im definitely a foodie and I love sweets so it’s the best of both worlds. Preferably, the location inside of Northpark Mall so we could go shopping while we’re there. I love being outside so I would go downtown/ uptown area. Walk around like a tourist and just enjoy the city buildings. There are so many cool areas to take pictures so it would turn into a whole photoshoot! Then, I would if definitely go to American Airlines and watch a good game of basketball with the Mavericks. I love basketball!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to all my clients and customers. Anyone I’ve serviced or sold hair/products too. My clients are who keeps me going. Some of my clients are really close friends now, some like family. My clients bring joy into my life. I appreciate and love all my clients. I also would like to shoutout out Leseanda Wilcott for the referral. She’s a makeup artist and in the hair industry as well. I enjoy collaborating with other stylist and artist.
