Hi Keena, what do you attribute your success to?
Flie Cakes most important factor to success is because it’s built on relationships, not transactions.

The Flie Life is about delivering more than a dessert, it’s a personal experience from start to finish. I focus on creativity, quality, and making each client feel like family.

When people know you genuinely care about them and their vision, they come back, and they bring others with them. That’s the real recipe for success.

What should our readers know about your business?
Flie Cakes is all about turning sweet visions into edible art. What sets me apart is that I don’t just bake cakes. I create a personalized experience from start to finish. I listen to my clients’ ideas, their stories, and their personalities, and I pour that into every design. Every cake is custom, every detail is intentional, and every client leaves feeling like family.

I’m most proud of the way The Flie Life has grown into a community. People don’t just come to me for a dessert — they come for creativity, connection, and a cake that feels like it was made just for them.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I started with limited resources, teaching myself techniques late at night and balancing orders with life’s challenges. There were times I questioned if I could make it work, but I kept pushing, learning from mistakes, leaning on my support system, and staying true to my vision.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned? Never underestimate the power of relationships in business, trust your creativity, and remember that consistency, organization, and standing on business is key!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting the area for a week, I’d make sure they got a mix of great food, fun activities, and a true feel for the local culture. We’d kick things off with tacos and margaritas at Buena Vida, followed by a stroll through Deep Ellum to enjoy the vibrant street art and eclectic atmosphere.

Downtown Fort Worth’s West 7th area would be next for a mix of shopping, dining, and people-watching, and of course, a visit to the Stockyards to experience the city’s historic Western culture is always a option.

For a bit of hands-on fun, we’d try Sandbox VR for immersive gaming and check out Malibu Jacks, a new entertainment spot worth exploring. Foodies will love the Ghost Park Food Truck area, where we could sample a variety of local bites. For a nature escape, we’d walk through Veridian or Marion Sansom Park, and sushi lovers would enjoy dinner at Blue Sushi Grill. A shopping trip to Galleria Mall and a check for live concerts or local events would round out our evenings.

For family-friendly fun, Epic Waters offers indoor water activities perfect for kids. There are truly so many exciting options in the area, between the food, culture, outdoor spaces, and entertainment, there’s always something new to discover.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes first to my family. ❤️ they’ve been my backbone, cheering me on through every late night and early morning in the kitchen. But I also have to give huge credit to my clients, past, present, and future. Every order, every celebration, and every word-of-mouth referral has been a stepping stone in my journey. The Flie Life wouldn’t exist without the people who believe in me, trust my creativity, and let me be a part of their special moments. And last but not least all things are possible with the faith of God!
