Meet K.C. Fox: TV & Film Executive, High-Profile Crisis Manager, Author, Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with K.C. Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi K.C., we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Outside of writing, researching and storytelling, seeing other people win lights my fire. I love a good “underdog” story. What makes me even happier is the ability to help others win. The ability to influence another human beings in a positive way is life to me. When I see the fruits of my labor in that way, my entire existence is on a vibration that is unimaginable. I believe it’s proof that I have power, influence and that “thing” that can impact the world. I truly aspire to inspire.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After over 2 decades working in mainstream media, I learned that I was a multi-hypenate. I started expanding my skill sets and creating brands and business that would service people in a positive way. It was all prompted by a good friend of that works as a veteran NBA agent. He introduced me to the world of professional sports as a media coach and crisis communicator (where I have developed strategy and coached some of the NBA’s and NFL’s favorites. From there, my clientele grew into areas of Civil and Women’s rights working alongside one of the most sought out civil rights attorneys the world has ever seen. If the case made national news, somewhere in the inner workings there was me developing strategy and running point in some fashion or another.
By no means is it glamorous work, the one case that gave me gray hairs was the Civil and Criminal cases brought against R Kelly. Despite the challenges both internally and externally, I wouldn’t trade the experience for my favorite pair of designer shoes.
I’ve since expanded creating “An All Female Company” (tech start-up) and an entertainment/film house, “Blue Yams”. My route wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t hard either. When you are doing what you are designed to do, it comes easy. The key to attaining what may appear as the unattainable is to not create obstacles for yourself and to always operate with integrity.
I would say my biggest asset regarding career and business success has been staying true to myself and staying true to my core values. The paths that I’ve chosen naturally stacks the odds against me. I am a double minority that has always operated in spaces that weren’t necessarily double minority friendly. Staying the course, my protection from God and always doing right by others has given me staying power. At times it has made me the “enemy”, “difficult” and unpopular, but I can take that for the greater good. My core values are at the center of all that I am. Service before self, Excellence in all I do and Integrity.
Because of this, The Lady General Foundation was founded. It was birth out of necessity to safeguard the legacy of black women across the globe. Its mission is to create the next generation of female leaders. All the work that I’ve done and accolades that I have received doesn’t mean sh*t if I don’t pass the baton on to the next generation of female leaders.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my, this is hilarious because I am such an introvert in my private life.
If my arm were twisted it would probably go down something like this:
Monday: North Park Mall Ipic Theater in Fairview Dinner and signature drinks at home
Tuesday: Bookstore for self-help books, dinner at Grimaldi’s in Allen, Tx
Wednesday: Galleria Mall Grand Luxe Cafe for the chocolate chip cookies Indoor Skydiving in Frisco Dinner and drinks at Del Frisco’s on Mckinney Ave
Thursday: Spend the day at my studio writing and story boarding my most recent docu-series (I swear I’m more creative on Thursdays than any other day of the week.
Friday: North Park Mall, then to my #1 spot in the city, La Duni for the best mojitos and Lunch on the planet. Then my friend has got to head home. I am very much a loner in that way.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughter is the reason for my drive and ambition. She motivates me in ways that are unimaginable. She is a lover of Christ and successful entrepreneur. Owner of Foxxys Organics and Founder of Positive and Pretty. Chance Wiggins, my #1 shout out. In addition, I want to shout out all the strong beautiful women around the globe that have support me, my efforts, and missions. My core group of male friends that I served alongside in the USAF (they were instrumental in passing the baton with notice of my gender and encouraging me to LEAD, truly LEAD!) My close girlfriends that tend to keep me balanced daily. Just fu*king great in every way.
One of my favorite quotes is “No one woman is greater than her team”, and my team embodies that. They will never go unnoticed.
