We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Runnels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerry, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like taking risk is necessary in life in order to advance or at least try to advance in one’s career. It’s like you’ll never know what could have been or how far you’ve could’ve gone if you don’t take them (risks that is).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m into musical arts, I used to be a recording artist myself, that’s how I got into the music business. I was a struggling artist who ended up learning the business side of things and decided to take a different approach. Years later I attended college for business and music and arts, that’s when I decided to be more behind the scenes. I opened up my recording studio in Dallas, Tx and began my journey, that’s when different artists wanted to be apart of what I had going on. So from that point I had ended up getting me a camera and started learning how to film music videos. None of it was ever easy, I learned that you have to have thick skin when being in any business and just handle things more professional. My most proud moment is that my artist TAG Showtime song “Used” has been put in a film on Tubi that’s nation wide across the world. He’s an amazing artist and performer. My brand Talented And Gifted Ent is all about Music and Film making. I love it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my opinion we would go out in the city and view all of the beautiful murals and different parks that have art. Besides that for eating we’d probably go downtown Dallas area or to one of the malls that have plenty of food options. And of course we’d be in the music studio creating new sounds for the world to hear, and speaking to children about staying in school and learn to have a positive attitude even when times get rough.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my beautiful wife, Ashley Runnels, for being my business and number one supporter. Yes I may have started Talented And Gifted Entertainment, but she’s the one who made it flourish.
