We had the good fortune of connecting with Jelani Ingram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jelani, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We identified a significant gap in healthcare that desperately needed addressing. While both healthcare and fitness are expensive, numerous studies have shown that prevention is the key to healthy longevity.

Our business was born from the realization that combining the expertise of certified personal trainers with that of board-certified medical doctors could bridge this gap effectively. By merging these two fields, we’ve created a unique approach that focuses on daily preventative care, making it more accessible and effective for our clients.

This innovative model allows us to offer comprehensive, personalized solutions that address both immediate health concerns and long-term wellness goals. We believe this approach is not only more effective but also more cost-efficient in the long run, potentially revolutionizing how we think about health and fitness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Funny story. Antonio Rozier, MD and I started a Virtual Reality filming company (JaeVR, Inc.) in 2017. I had to teach myself to film VR, then I had to teach myself to edit VR footage. Thank you Youtube! Some of our virtual reality meditation videos on Youtube are still being watched today. We starred in the first ever doctors talk show in virtual reality called DocTalk 360.

We are not finished yet, Fit-in-15 will benefit from the R&D knowledge we gained.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to area in and surrounding DFW. Places like: AT&T Discovery District Downtown Dallas, Downtown Fort Worth, Bishop Arts District, Victory Park, Frisco, Cowboys Stadium, Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, Dallas Arboretum, Klein Warren Park at Sunset, Trinity Grooves.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely, University of Texas at Houston (McGovern) Family Medicine Residency Program for giving me a chance to learn family medicine at the most unique family medicine settings in the world. Comprehensive, hospital intensive, outpatient clinic, treating private & county patients, learning procedures from world renown physicians, largest medical center in the world, understanding the economics of healthcare and so much more.

Also Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and Oprah Winfrey for also giving me a chance in a highly unique setting: inside a major city with 7+ college/universities within 25 minutes. Learning from mentors that have dedicated their lives to fostering the development of complex reasoning skills. Also Oprah for giving back to provide the necessary scholarship funds to matriculate through college.
