We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Madison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
It is very important to stay consistent and organized. The more consistent you are with your actions, advertising, and work ethics, the more you see the return of your labor. You have to keep momentum going with your business to stay relevant. It also creates a habit for you to handle your business consistently. The second half is organization. The more organized you are the smoother things run. For me, it made transactions easier to track for tax purposes and also it allowed me to be able to take more orders and produce more products.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jazzed up Sweet Treats,LLC was build on love and passion. We pride ourselves on providing exuberant customer service and endless customizations. We make everything from scratch from the cake to the frosting, to your pie crust. You will never taste a box cake recipe from us. There is no event too small or big for us to handle. You are allowed to customized everything from a birthday cake, cake pop, cupcakes, to Bundt/Pound cakes. There are not a lot of bakers that only provide baked goods from scratch. We are innovative and will continue to adapt to the ever so evolving world. We are currently working on our dessert truck to come to a city near you once permitted. It was not easy to get to this place, but with any business you must sacrifice a little sleep to get things in motion. I have had many early mornings and late nights to get to where I am today. I would not trade this experience in to have it any other way. My struggle to make it this far is what builds character. I am passionate about baking and will not allow the issues of the world from me being able to bring a little joy to people via a sweet treat. We have grown debt free thus far, and would like to keep it that way as much as possible. We are aware that we will need to get a little debt once we move into a store, but until then we are accepting any donations to help support during this time. Together we will stand, but divided we will fall.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to get help with an itinerary, but I would certainly make sure we went to the Endorphin Factory in Grand Prairie. This is a great place to release some frustration or pinned up energy. You are aloud to go in and destroy everything in the room without consequences. They have axe throwing and you could even enjoy a drink or two. We would have Its So Vegan to build our strength back up from the workout at the Endorphin Factory. We would look into a movie at the drive in theatre in Lewisville as we enjoy movies. There has to be a day for relaxation and pampering. Supporting local black owned businesses would be the way for picking a new nail shop to try that week. Hand and Stone has the best massages I have had thus far, so that is the place we would go. We would end our nights in the backyard sipping on cocktails from Fort Pours mobile adult beverage company.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to take this time out to thank my big sister, Alex Evans. Without my sister I would not have even started my company and followed my passion for baking. I want to also thank my clients because without them I would not have gone to the next level. I have so much love for my mother Andrea Evans and my husband Leonard Madison IV. These 2 people have allowed me to work long hours and early mornings and bigger events to ensure I am able to focus and bring the quality my clients deserve. My mom helps me with making sure I have everything I need and helping when needed. They take turns ensuring the kids(1&3yrs old) are well cared for when I am working on my dreams. The Sweet Life of Texas has been a big supporter of Jazzed up Sweet Treats, LLC and have allowed us to be active on their platforms to build my clientele. With out the love, help, and support of these people I would not have grown as much as I have today. We are currently ranked 5stars on Google all thanks to my clients and my support team.
