We had the good fortune of connecting with Janice Burkhart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janice, what is the most important factor behind your success?
on the thought of success, we all have. a different rung on the ladder for measuring it. Are you concerned with money, notoriety, fun, and the list could go on and on. Key for me is integrity and fun. Everyday I focus on being positive. Whether im writing a caption for instagram or sending an email to a vendor or client, positive words can go a very long way and emit kindness. It’s this integrity that helps to sustain my brand for the long haul. As for fun, it’s an everyday event. We appear to have a glamour job as interiors designers, and yes while some days are glamorous other days can seem dull. I believe finding humor in these days is how we grow as humans and gives us the ability to cherish those times. I always tell my designers when they look like its a slow day, “enjoy this moment we know it will be fleeting”

What should our readers know about your business?
Burkhart Interiors was started in Jennings Louisiana. It started when we moved to this small town and people found out what I did for a living and started hiring me to help them with their homes. Fast forward many years and many states later, and it’s a thriving hustling fun show. We work hard to give the perfect finished designs for homes and business acrosss the country. Our paired down design style would be a classic take on modern. This would be in a French style, Spanish style, or even mediterranean style. Focusing on a great business model that is monetarily good for the company , and equally beneficial for the client. We want our clients and audience to walk away with some fun and beautiful interiors that are timeless and fit them like a glove.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Big shout out to my husband. His supporting and encouragement has been instrumental through the years. Shout out to the Design Program at University of North Texas. They gave me the foundation of composition, aesthetics vs function and all over knowledge of what makes Good Design
