We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamesha Bodwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamesha, how do you think about risk?
Well what “taking risks” is to most people is having faith to me. I’ve always lived by “you never know until you try.” And I’ve never allowed fear to deter me from my goals. By having that mindset, I’ve been able to accomplish just about everything I’ve set out to do. I have had challenges, but I believe I’ve succeeded because I’ve always been persistent and not afraid to fail, because I know I’ll always get back up and try again.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Interior design is the perfect career choice for me, because I am a people lover! I enjoy connecting with souls near and far, and helping them create the spaces of their dreams! I am also a counselor at heart, so I take pride in giving my clients tips and design advice even after services are rendered. I am most proud of the commitment that I have made to keep going. This business can definitely have its challenges for “people pleasers” like myself, but I had to realize that this is my dream, and the way that I feed my family, so I deserve to have it my way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout to GOD for making it all possible. He gave me life, parents who knew I deserved more, blessed me with 2 sets of grandparents to raise me and teach me right, graced me with a son who is my purpose, and gave me a vision with the ability to execute. I owe everything I am to him.
