We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaleah Ledford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaleah, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I think about this a lot. I want tobe comfortable and well known. I want a brand of paint and paint brushes. I want my own line of professional canvases as well. My dream is to have art so recognizable that when you see it you know leah the artist painted it. I would love to own a gallery as well as an art studio open for children to come create and escape normal life. Thats my goal

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art was created to promote happiness. Im so proud of the joy that it brings to my collectors every time they receive a piece from me. The colors and patterns that i create is what sets me apart from others artist. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get me where I am today. It was not easy for me I had a lot of down days where I questioned if this is what I really wanted to do. I was able to overcome that thinking by speaking with family and friends. I meditated and asked for guidance. I took a break from art for a little while and realized I was so unhappy without it and that’s when I knew that I was walking in my chosen path. Some important lessons that I learned along the way is that everyone is not going to like what you create, But if it brings you joy and happiness someone is going to find that same happiness in your art it’s always going to be someone that appreciates what you create as long as you love what you do.. I want the world to know that my art saved my life it has brought me peace it has brought me happiness it has given me a purpose. I want everyone to love and be able to appreciate what I create. My brand is for everyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First i would start off with food. I love to eat and Dallas has some amazing soul food restaurants. I love a good whole in the wall spot nothing to fancy. Once we eat then we would head out to a bar and catch some live music. I have some amazing friends that are artist/musicians. I love being active as well playing game ect. Dave and busters would be the next place we go. Next we go to a local art show and check out some artist and shop till we drop. On our final day we stay in and have my closest family and friends come by I cook a wonderful meal we have drinks and good laughs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my friends and family for believing in my dream and helping me push forward even at my lowest. My love ones never doubted my ability.
