We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I believe that it’s important to have multiple sources of income. Having a 9 to 5 is safe, but when you work for smaller companies, there is a higher chance of experiencing lay-offs. After a lay-off in 2015, I started focusing more on my freelance marketing and writing and made my business official. I also have a love for skincare and after showcasing my skincare samples to friends and family, I felt that it was time to make it official. Just weeks before the pandemic kicked in, I created my skincare company, K-O Naturals and developed my brand, Good Skin Is In.Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Owning a business is hard. Usually, I’ll have a “9 to 5” just to have consistent income. As a business owner, I may go months and months without any major profits. In the beginning, you’re going to end up investing a lot more money than what’s coming in. That’s a part of the growing process. I’m proud that I have not given up. It’s easy to just say, “I’m done.” For me, I don’t want that to be an option. I have a love for skincare, and when you have a passion for what you’re doing, it’s not easy to just call it quits. With my skincare, I offer simple organic ingredients. The manufacturer is located in West Texas, and I’m very satisfied with the quality in their FDA-regulated facility. At some point, I will be adding more product to my line. But for now, I offer an eye serum and hydration cream. Yes, there are millions of skincare products out there, but my goal is to continue making skincare that’s affordable without compromising quality. I don’t want to charge hundreds of dollars for skincare for everyday women and men. I also offer FREE samples. This allows consumers “try before you buy.” There are a small percentage of companies who offer free sample, and I think that this sets me a part from MANY skincare companies. Having problematic skin myself, I’m fortunate to have the opportunity for others to improve their skin and feel more confident. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many interesting areas in Dallas. Trinity Groves has seen extreme growth, Bishop Arts District also has lots of culture. I could go on and on about where to go in Dallas. There’s something for everyone. @DallasSites101 and @DallasLoveList are amazing Instagram accounts to discover some of the hottest spots! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success comes from, not only motivating myself and being dedicated to making things happen, but what really has kept me on my toes is having supporting people around me. The pandemic has made me realize how important POSITIVITY is in being top priority. I surround myself with people who exemplify amazing energy, positivity, and support. So thank you to all loved ones.

I tried samples of the product and I can’t say enough amazing things. Ever used a lotion or eye cream that leaves you feeling orange kissed (the scent is amazing compared to a million other products I’ve used), soft, light, luxurious and most important fave me results over my expectations. I was somewhat blown away at the quality and results I was left with. I am apprehensive about trying new products due to my sensitive skin, but this is a must try for anyone in the market for a luxury product at an affordable price.
