We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Blank and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am the Brand Owner of 2 businesses.

SmileGlamByHolly is my baby it is my first business and has allowed me to marry my passion for beautiful smiles as a dental hygienist with over 15 years in dentistry to now assisting clients with achieving that as a teeth whitening technician and tooth gem artist. My mission for Smile Glam By Holly is to assist my clients with achieving their desired Glamorous Smile by providing high-quality and effective laser teeth whitening services, adding a little bling through enamel-safe tooth gem applications, fullness to enhance lip appearance though Hyaluron Needless Filler Services and PMU/ lipblushing. I want to bring high quality luxe services and excellent customer service to communities that feel that they may not have access to cosmetic treatments.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m United States Navy woman veteran and served abroad in Yokosuka Japan and in San Diego during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. My military experience was such a unique journey because I enlisted while in high school and at graduation I was off to serve onboard the USS Obrien as on of the youngest sailors and it was initially challenging but I learned how to turn that challenge into a grey opportunity to learn and grow mentally and professional while in uniform. I learned how overcome, maintain my composure and complete missions and tasks that the civilian lifestyle could not prepare me for. I learn how to navigate through life despite to odds and how to complete the mission and goals set before me.

After I completed my 4 year enlistment and had to completely restart my career from the bottom up and it was challenging because all my training and accomplishments did not all apply to my new career but I this was a blessing because I was determined more than every to be just as successful as I was in that uniform.

I was a young wife and mother at the time and I came from a family of women that gave up their dreams and goals to raise their children. I watched how they struggled and I knew I was at a cross road that I had to decide if that was going to be my life.

So I made the decision that so was going to do it all and never quit even if the odds were against me. It would accomplished a goal and I would just keep going and stay hungry to learn and grow!

Today I have over 15 years in dentistry. I work for the Department of Navy and Department of Defense for several hospitals and probably practices. I have trained, studied and worked along side of the best all from
all over the United States

Now many would say you have a great career why are you not settled? It is because I still know there is so much to learn!

My entrepreneur journey has allowed me to experience life in a different way! I love it because I can be creatively me at the same time as professional impacting clients in a way that I can not in my professional career. I get to see how my services and business impact how good they feel about themselves.

Building my brand has need rewarding and challenging I have grown and learned so much about being a business owner and how to
handle the highs and lows. I’ve learned to stay my authentic self, cheer myself along and above all just never quit!

If there are challenges I try to keep
People around me that can offer up knowledge and mentorship, I learned how to be specific with what I’m
asking God for, I learned to gain understanding that’s it’s ok not to know everything and what I struggle with I research and outsource to eliminate stress and pressure.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This one used to be a struggle for me because it took me years before I began exploring Dallas lol! So I’d actually use this time to explore restaurants and places that are on the list lol!

I’m a huge foodie. I’d have to definitely hit Deep Ellum and Farmers Market areas, Trinity Grove and McKinney !
My favorite restaurants are Rexs Seafood, and. Woolworth

I also love live entertainment and music I’d say Deep Ellum and Downtown for concerts.

Lastly I love to shop! So they gonna have to go to North Park Mall with me cause I’m there every week!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an abundant amount of people that have impacted my life, career and entrepreneurship journey but I must give a shout-out to my children Omarion Aponte, Jasmine Aponte, Jayden Aponte, Larry Brown III, Kyrie Carter Wilson. Its because of them that I am the woman, mother and business and career person I am today, They are my fuel! They are my Drive! They are the future! I am on a mission to exemplify that no matter what life brings to you no matter your journey! Stay on the mission! You can achieve anything!
