Hi Heather McDaniel and Mollie Greenwood, how does your business help the community?
Our firm, GEM Wealth, is an all-female financial planning firm. We play a vital role in empowering women economically by offering tailored financial advice and support. We help women gain control over their finances, achieve their goals, and secure their future. This not only benefits individual women but also strengthens communities and economies by promoting financial independence and stability.

By focusing on women’s financial planning, our firm addresses a significant gap in traditional financial services. Women often face unique challenges such as the gender pay gap, career interruptions due to caregiving responsibilities, and longer life expectancies.

Through personalized financial advice and education, we equip women with the tools and knowledge they need to overcome these challenges and build wealth. This empowerment ripples out into the community, as financially secure women are better able to support their families, contribute to the economy through entrepreneurship or investment, and advocate for gender equality in financial matters.

Moreover, our firm actively engages in community outreach programs, workshops, and partnerships aimed at promoting financial literacy and empowerment among women of all backgrounds. By lifting up women economically, we contribute to building a more equitable and prosperous society for everyone.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As women in the financial advisory business, what sets us apart is our willingness to challenge industry norms and break barriers. In a male-dominated field, we decided to establish an all-female firm, GEM Wealth. In doing so, this strategically helps to meet the evolving needs of all our clients and their desire to be educated and make empowering decisions regarding their financial plan.

We are most excited about the positive support and acknowledgment from others in our community and industry who believe in us and want to see us succeed and share our story with others.

Our journey wasn’t easy, as there is a high failure rate in our industry, but with the accountability and determination to never give up, we were able to make it to the point we are at now in building our own firm.

Co-founders Mollie and Heather established GEM Wealth with a mission to break down barriers in the financial services industry. Observing preconceived notions of women around finance, they want women to feel heard no matter what side of the table they are sitting. GEM Wealth’s vision is to educate and empower women with financial literacy, enabling them to pursue their financial aspirations confidently.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Brunch in Deep Ellum, shopping in Bishop Arts, dinner and drinks in Uptown. another day spent exploring West 7th and Magnolia in Fort Worth, following a night out at the stockyards. Also, you can’t visit Dallas without a trip to seeing the STAR in Frisco, the Dallas Cowboy’s stadium in Arlington and Texas Live for a sporting event.
