We had the good fortune of connecting with Hair by Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hair by Griffin, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I always try and see the best in people.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is listening. It’s not about me. Almost 16 professional years in the hair industry now! I grew up with two older sisters and a mom who did there own hair in our kitchen. I feel it’s in my genetics to work with my hands and people. My mom and sisters always complained that hairdressers never listened to them. One of the lessons I have learned recently is to get over myself! I have been in the service industry my whole working life. That lesson is the hardest.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my clients become my professional friendships. My clients know I live 35mins south of Dallas on 30 acres of family property. It is a bird sanctuary with bees and ponds and wildflowers. My wife like hosting and enjoys visitors.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The book The Four Agreements! My mentor Deklynd Channing! My wife and two daughters!
