We had the good fortune of connecting with Haeley Weigel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haeley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was born an entrepreneur. When I was 7 I was charging people to look at my pet turtle. Around age 10 I would set up a stand with markers at my brothers track meets and give people tattoos, and the summers I made greeting cards and walked around my grandparents office complex selling them door to door. Growing up I’ve always done things that would make money but was also something I enjoyed doing. I knew this is something that I would want to continue doing so I didn’t have to be tied to a big company for the rest of my life. When Covid hit and we were all stuck working form home, I knew it was time to make a change and start working 100% for myself and I haven’t looked back. I already had my real estate license in Tennessee but it was hard to really get into it while working 50+ hours a week and taking care of the home. Once I left my full time job and had my husbands full support and encouragement, I was able to really focus on real estate that’s when things started to take off. In addition to real estate, I started back up with freelance graphic design. I have my bachelors in graphic design but I never wanted it to be a full time job so I have always found ways to be creative in the jobs that I have held. I create all of my own marketing for real estate and assist other agents with their design needs. Last July I was presented with the opportunity to acquire a beauty/cosmetics company named Killer Baby Beauty, specializing in bath and body products. I thought it was crazy to take on a new business in addition to real estate and graphic design work (all while planning our wedding reception, getting my house ready to sell, and move to Texas) but I was ready for the challenge. Fast forward to now, I am a licensed real estate agent in both Tennessee and Texas, I was just named in the Property Sparks Top 15 Clarksville Real Estate Agents on Social Media for the second year in a row, I’ve helped a handful of amazing small businesses with branding and design needs, and I am leveling up my fun little cosmetics company.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Killer Baby Beauty started in Clarksville, TN but a fellow serial entrepreneur. She had a vision but also had so many other projects on her plate it was time for her to step away. When I acquired the business, I wanted to make it a fun, classy, and affordable sugar scrub business. I made it a point to keep ingredients simple, scents light but lasting, and use minimal added colorants to keep my products as natural as possible. One thing that I loved about this new venture was being able to rebrand and redesign the logo and make it a little more of me. There have definitely been ups and downs with this, the biggest hurdle was trying to get it off of the ground right before moving. Once I got to Texas, I no longer had a home office and space was limited. Unfortunately with this, the business was put on the back burner until I could figure something out. In December I found the perfect office space in downtown Mineola to lease and that became the new home of Killer Baby Beauty. I’ve met amazing people in the community while handing out product samples, I am a member of the Mineola Chamber of Commerce, and I have participated in a local vendor event to help get my name and products out there.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It 100% depends on when they are visiting, but let’s say it’s at the end of the month. We would start at First Monday Trade Days in Canton. It is one of my favorite things to do each month when the weather is just right. It’s so easy to spend an entire day walking around and checking out the new and old finds and connecting with vendors to hear their stories. If we stayed local to Mineola, I would take them to Logans Place for dinner, the burgers are amazing. After dinner we would walk over to Grandma Cledas for ice cream and pecan brittle. Grandma Cledas is one of my absolute favorites when I have a sweet tooth. They get their ice cream from Henry’s in Dallas, I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like! Next up is Fort Worth! On the way we would have to make a stop at Buc-ees, you can’t come to Texas and not go. I’ve only been to the Stockyards so this would be a fun trip for us both to explore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I couldn’t do any of this or be where I am today if it weren’t for the unconditional love and support from my parents, Jim & Carrie Weigel and my husband, Auston Arnold.
