We had the good fortune of connecting with Gracette Baltonado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gracette, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
During my younger years, I grew up in the Philippines. I was brought up with traditional filipino culture being family oriented, strong faith and living life with intentions. I am a firm believer of what you give out is what you will also get. I do my best to live my life with honesty and full integrity in all aspects from relationships and professional life. My experience and guidance definitely molded me of who I am today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With a degree of Graphic Design & Multimedia, it has helped me tremendously being in Marketing. I can do best of both worlds, an eye for design while utilizing the design for marketing. My college years, I worked during the day and went to school full time in the evening while being pregnant with my eldest son. Was it easy? Definitely not but I pushed through it, graduated while 8 months pregnant. And because of that, I can look back and say if you work hard, you will reap what you sow. Yes, it sounds cliche but ultimately, it is something you can reflect on when times are hard and how you are able to overcome hardships in life. All because you kept going and gave everything your all. If I can do it, so can you! This is what I instill on my boys now.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a big foodie! I love a good meal. It’s hard to pinpoint where or which restaurant because in reality, it depends on who you are with. Overall, I do like to stay close to home so maybe somewhere Legacy West or The Star depending on the vibe of the night. Or if we are wanting some comfort food, we’d go to places where Asian restaurants are predominant – #iykyk.. I am a very chill person, I prefer to sit at a bar or patios, enjoy some good food or have a drink (rarely, yes I rarely drink nowadays). But if I were to pick a bar, I will probably go with Bottled in Bond, good food and great drinks with an ambience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can fill this page with so many awesome people who I met and made long lasting relationships over the years. Where do I even start?

My family – for the never ending support, guidance and love you have shown me over the years makes me who I am today. Family is everything.
