We had the good fortune of connecting with Gildardo Anzora Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gildardo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
starting your own business can be scary at first. You start questioning yourself if you did the right move. How others are going to react towards it. If it’s going to hit or not. But at the end of the day you have to take risk and know that with hard work and faith you will get what you want .
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started the entrepreneurship route after i graduated high school. I did not believe in college or working at a corporate job. I dedicated my time on becoming a better person. So i started my own business as a health and fitness coach. Where i’m able to help clients with their well-being and fitness goals. From losing, gaining or maintain weight or overall health. I love helping others and seeing them happy with their transformation. A lot of my clients look up to me because i inspire them in a way. My high school friends now want to be a better person because they see i have changed my character. My lifestyle is not the same and i’m more positive. After being a fitness coach , 5 years later i started competing in bodybuilding. 2019 was my first bodybuilding show and won 1st place twice. After that show i gained more confidence and did my second show 2021 and again i won 1st place. My clients are excited for my career as an athlete and want to see me shine . I don’t compete for just myself i do it for the community. For them to have a role model to follow. For others to say ” if he can do it , i can too” It wasn’t easy to compete and get ready for a bodybuilding show. It takes a lot of discipline and hard work training. A lot of dieting and eating your meals on time. Eating 5 -6 meals a day for months can kill you mentally. There was times where i wanted to skip a meal , but than that wouldn’t take me closer to my goal . So i stay consistent and separate myself from the crowd to be focus. I lost a lot of friends and missed parties, but i knew where i was going and that was to be a champion. Reading personal development books, audios and mentors kept me on track. Also made me grow as a person. Along the way i learned to fall and get back up no matter what. To stick to the plan and avoid negative comments. I also started my personal brand (BreakdCycle) which means no matter what your going threw at the time you can always break the cycle and become a better person. Example: for me since i grew up in the hood and drug deals i wanted to change and break the cycle. So i did the opposite and separated myself from that crowd. That’s when i started my brand (BreakdCycle) and my own business as a health & fitness coach. Now people see me as a positive image for change. I want the world to know me as hustler and know that you can always BreakdCycle and better yourself .
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When you come to my side of town , Austin Texas . Downtown Austin is beautiful. Tons of hike and trail parks. Like town lake and lady bird lake. Also you must check out barton springs pool(outdoors) . Austin is business booming. Austin is known as a weird city because we are weird in a sense. You can be free and feel how you want. You must check out 6th street day or night if your into partying life. Turn up !!! Food trucks you can find them on North Lamar and the East side of town. Famous streets for good food are : Lamar, Rundberg, Riverside.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my family for always being there threw thick & thin. My community that wants to see me do good in life. God for answering my prayers.
