We had the good fortune of connecting with Gifty Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gifty, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are a few important factors behind my success. The most important factor is God and prayer. These things are the very foundation of my business and without them I wouldn’t have a business. My husband is a major factor who has been one of my biggest supporters and I am grateful and honored to have him through this journey. I can’t forget my sister, my friends and my family who constantly supports me. All of these have been the reason I keep pushing forward even when I don’t feel I can. I love them all!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the founder and owner of GIFTKEYSROCK. Our mission is to help people cultivate a mindset to Empower, Encourage, Declare and Activate the Greatness within them. I understand the power of words and how one word can change how you look at yourself and the trajectory of your life. I design and customize hand-stamped jewelry and I offer inspirational apparel and accessories. My customized key necklaces is how I originally started this journey to help bring words to life. I am most proud of being able to create things that will encourage or uplift people. There are no limits to expressing or making a statement of the Greatness you are Destined to walk in. GIFTKEYSROCK is determined to provide products for you to do just that! I got to where I am right now professionally by my faith, not giving up and the people in my life. It was not easy because I can easily get in my head and get in the way. I would go back to my why, the foundation on which this business was built and get back in position to overcome challenges. This usually involves a lot of prayer lol. The lessons I have learned is knowing who I am and knowing my purpose will help put everything I do into perspective. Also that people who are connected or apart of this journey with me will be just that. Connected. I would like the world to know that the GIFTKEYSROCK brand has the KEYS to help shift you into the Greatness you were destined for and we will continue to provide those KEYS for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Listen, I would stop by wherever Chris Johnson is going to be for barbecue. Shunta Rush, Cooking with Tae for the home cooked meals, Carnells Cakery for some bomb cheesecake and then get a nutritious shake after eating like that with Jennifer Mosley Mind Body and Soul Oak Cliff Wellness Center. Clearly my weekend will be full of eating and chilling with anybody I know in Oak Cliff. We are some funny, interesting and exciting people lol. I love it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to GOD!! He’s absolutely everything. I have been able to shift all my cares on him and shift when needed. John T. Edwards III, my husband, King, best-friend has been the push I wasn’t ready for but needed. The voice that has been present to speak the more, legs to help get my packages out on time, and the hands to help build so I can work. Precious Moore has been one of the faces of my business and supporters. I have been able to determine more of who I am as a person and that has helped me become clear in my business because of her. She is one of the first to buy something that I put out, along with my family and friends. Arnita Johnson-Hall has a business credit book that was key to setting up my business and her credit company helped me in establishing and maintaining good credit. Toni Duclottni has a business workshop online class that helped me narrow down my clients and establish my business. She also has shared tips and knowledge with me personally. Shout out to my Kimball Knights and Oak Cliff family!! Especially Cassy Latimore for the referral . When I tell you that they have been my #1 supporters since I’ve started and have been consistent and surprising. You never know who is watching and who will be that one person to support. I have so many other friends I have met a long the way that believes in me and just wants me to do well. I’m grateful for my life and the people in it.
