We had the good fortune of connecting with Gianna Dior and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gianna, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success to me is the result of both mind and body connection. Success starts with a vision. After a vision has been created, consistent work has to be put in.
An idea without works, is dead. When you put forth action, you reach and achieve the results- success and accomplishment. Vision leads to a Plan. A plan leads to action. Action leads to Success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of who I’ve become. I am Gianna Dior. I’m extremely excited about seeing my overall dream come to a reality that I’ve created. I’m even more excited about what more there is to come. I am a RnB Singer/Songwriter, however my musical creativity doesn’t stop there. I’m open to working with other genres of music, especially if it speaks back to me. Hard work, taking a chance and believing in myself and my dream in music is how I got here today. I’ve always had this dream and plan of becoming an artist, I just wasn’t sure how to get there. Once I realized I am more than an artist, I represent a brand, myself, that’s when I began taking myself more serious and got to work. It hasn’t been the easiest road, but I’m grateful for all the experiences and lessons I’ve learned along the way. No regrets. As a result of my hard work and believing in myself, my debut single “Take Ur Time” has charted on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts as well as making Spotify playlists. I’m beyond proud and blessed to be able to share this single with everyone and can’t wait for you all to see what more is in store. Stay tuned.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fun fact- I’m not a Dallas Native. I’m originally from Milwaukee, WI and have resided in Texas the last 7 years. Over the past few years, I’ve learned my way around pretty well and gotten to know the people and southern hospitality is real. Dallas definitely has its treasures and sites to see. A week with my best friend would look something like this: For Mornings, some days we’d have a home cooked breakfast, drink our tea or coffee. Other days, we’d go to popular breakfast/brunch spot downtown called Bread Winners Café & Bakery, Original House of Pancakes or other local brunch spots depending on the weekday.
In the afternoons, some days, we would spend some time shopping at the Galleria Mall and Parks Mall. Other days would be our lit days where we’d get dressed, go to day parties at Turkey D.A.M and Bitter End, have drinks, hookah and enjoy ourselves. For a more upscale rooftop vibe, we would go to Statler. We don’t only and always like to club or bar hop though. We have fun and would also do things like going to the lake on picnics, different types of museums, waterparks, go to the studio, etc. One day would be a spa day to get our nails and feet done as well as get mobile in-home massages.
To finish the nights off strong, we would freshen up, get finer than wine and go to dinner before we go out. We both love seafood so we would go to Red Claw or Crab Station for a crab boil. For soul food, we would go to True Kitchen & Cocktails. The other places we go to would depend on what we have a taste for.
After dinner, closer to and on the weekend, some spots we may go to would be Nirvana’s, Headquarters, Volume Hookah Lounge, Chocolate Lounge, 945 and Rokwood. If we decide to stay in, we would have a ladies night with our friends, good wine and/or drinks, snacks and music.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank my family and close friends that have been there to support and encourage me along my musical journey. Big shoutout to not only a close friend, but an amazing DJ as well, DJ Rooty Red for helping me push myself and my music. Thank you to DFD Music out of Atlanta, GA for the opportunity and working with me. I appreciate the love and support I’ve received from my listeners and fans thus far and can’t wait for you guys to see what more I have to come.
