We had the good fortune of connecting with Funmi Shoyomi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Funmi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Having gone through different seasons in life, and navigating different professional fields, while constantly searching and digging deep for my life’s purpose. I was able to conclude that there are other women and men who seem to be doing well but are thirsty for fulfillment in life. I solved my issue after years of trying multiple things, but know that with help, the journey could have been shorter. So, I decided to thread this path to help others, especially women, to figure out their purpose in life but much faster than I did, through coaching.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work life cut from being an employee to owning my own business. I have been through many schools and professional fields, ranging from starting as a teacher to becoming an attorney, doing various businesses in-between like bead making, and hair braiding, landing in the physical therapy world and finally exhibiting my life purpose by starting my own business to help others
I believe that my overall experience academically, professionally and career-wise in my pursuit of purpose set me apart from any other purpose coach because I went through those hurdles too. But I am always proud of how much I have learned in my quest to get here and to know that I did not just get here but that I am in this place to impact others positively.
Getting here wasn’t that easy, along the journey, I learned to be patient, humble and persistent. Most importantly, I held unto God who I believe in, and know that he orders my step.

I have learned that every obstacle is a hurdle in the way and not a destination.
Failure is how you define it, and what others call failure for me is a sign to start over.
Pursuit of purpose is a continuous journey of life. but we can find fulfilment in little details if we pay attention.

I founded “The Woman and More” a brand that reminds women that we are carefully crafted and endowed with values to excel. Encouraging women to be Godly, embrace their uniqueness, thrive with purpose, & impact generations coming after.
My story and brand help motivate, encourage and empower women who are navigating hurdles of life in search of a purpose to be fulfilled.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am naturally an indoor person because I love to spend time with my family the most. My house will be the first place to dine at, since I love and prefer homemade food. But I will say I love the Addison TX area, and will visit the parks for walks, especially the Vitruvian and Addison Circle Park. And will eat at Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill.
Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas is one place we must visit, I love the view of the city from up there. We will stop by Cindi’s NY Deli and Restaurant in Dallas.
We will have to visit other places I haven’t been to myself to make it more fun and surprising for both of us.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout goes to God almighty, who greatly endowed me with lots of values, guiding me as I lay every foundation of life.
And to my husband “Abiodun Shoyomi” who has always been my support system at all times. He wears many hats, allowing me to explore my different ideas, always ready to help without hesitation.
My Children have been a great source of inspiration, unknowingly, they challenge me each day to be the best version of myself.
Shoutout to my family as a whole, but most importantly my mom, who laid an exceptional example for me to follow.
