We had the good fortune of connecting with Erick Fragoso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erick, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My final goal will be to own a successful bar. Gastronomy and mixology that only one could have at my location. Exclusive only to those that are willing to experience an amazing adventure of flavors. Taking it to a whole different level.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All the work of art that I’ve created is unique. From unique spices to the freshest of ingredients. I use my imagination to give birth to the product, I use my skills to perfect it and I finalize it with the approval of satisfied guests and empty cocktail glasses. One lesson that I’ve learned all my career is to be humble. To never be selfish or vain. Accept your loses and leave room for success to others. This world is big enough for everyone to be successful and why not have someone to do it with ? Sharing your success with other people gives such a satisfying feeling that I can not express. It just feels right. I am my own brand. I create high quality cocktails with my imagination and bring them to life for the world to enjoy and remember.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Residing in a small town outside Dallas, I would take my long distance friend to downtown and uptown Dallas. Every place that you go and visit is special on its own. Weather is a dive bar, a speak-easy to a fine dining restaurant. The Highland Park area is an amazing area of cuisine as well. It is an area that people are not too familiar with. Any of the restaurants that the food is created by the chef “Jose Meza” would be amazing to visit. Other than that, “Miriam’s” by Klyde Warren Park is also a great restaurant with great consistency of food and drinks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my whole experience, there is definitely a lot of people I give my thanks too. The most important, my family. My fiancée and my daughters. For them I do what I love and I get an amazing experience from it as well. They’ve pushed me and supported my career. They’ve never gave up on me and for that, they deserve a shout out and more! My employer as well as my co workers also deserve this shout out. They’re the ones that make my dream a little easier. With getting my name out there to the people of Dallas to criticizing my art. Because mixology, is art. So special shout out to the Tulum Dallas team! Thank you all.
