We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Arreola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eduardo, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by my mother and father. I’ve seen my mother and father work my whole life. I can’t count the sacrifices I have seen them make for my siblings and I. They’ve both taught us strong work ethics and to pursue what makes us happy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I consider my work to be edible art. One of the things that I believe sets me apart from other is that I refuse to sacrifice taste for looks when it comes to all my baked goods. I am proud of everything I put out because I know that it was all made with love. Getting to where I am today has not been easy. There are days where I feel like I’m not doing enough and there have been days when I felt like giving up. On the most challenging days I remind myself of where I want to be and tell myself that everything good comes with sacrifices. A little glimpse of my life or story is that I don’t just bake. I’m a baker by day and a 9-1-1 dispatcher at night.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting me for a week I would definitely take them to the downtown area of Fort Worth, botanic gardens, water gardens, the cultural district and possibly somewhere along the Trinity River. We’d likely look for hole in the wall places with good reviews to eat. For the most part my friends and I enjoy the outdoors and like exploring new foods.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am fortunate enough to have a lot of people in my circle who support me and encourage me to keep going. My husband and our families deserve a lot of credit. I wouldn’t have accomplished as much as I have without their support. A couple of my friends really stand out to me because their support has been incredible. My friend Alex helped me design my first sticker and he’s always encouraged me to be the best version of myself and to value my work. Also my friend Abbey who has bought me baking supplies and supports me in any way I need.
