We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebon’Nae “Faith” Piggee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebon’Nae “Faith”, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We are tackling the black maternal mortality rate in our Dallas/Ft. Worth community, one birth at a time through faith-based birth doula support & comprehensive birth education. We help black women become empowered with birth options that change their birth outcomes.

What should our readers know about your business?
Royal La Mére Birth and Wellness is one of the premier faith-based brands in DFW. Home to the Best Black Doulas in Dallas. We are here to educate & serve kingdom-minded families on their birth journeys. One of the things we are most proud about is setting an example of what it looks like to incorporate strong faith into birth work. I have mentored doulas seeking guidance in this area and in general as new doulas. I seek to continue to uplift our community while creating a globally reaching Christ centered brand of resources, services, and products for birthing families. I’m focused on doing the work of maternal and postpartum wellness through the lens of faith and Justice. It has not been easy, but being a birth worker is a calling that I have been anointed & graced to do.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love to eat so I would definitely go eat at some of my favorite black owned restaurants. I enjoy all of Dallas’ vegan eateries. Here in Desoto my favorite one is Peace. love . & Eatz. For dessert we’d go to the Cake Bar @Trinity Grove. I would have to also expose my best friend to DFW’s best body workers and wellness practitioners to get a proper Chiro adjustment, cranio sacral release, and some Exercise. Get our hair, nails, and brows done. Then we might hang out at the Bishop arts district or a some other chill wholesome environment. Before she leaves we would definitely have to experience praise and worship together at my church the Potters House of Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to all my fellow birth workers in the DFW community who continue to support me on this Journey. We learn and grow best working together. The midwives who delivered my own babies. The midwives and health and wellness professionals that I get to work so closely with. All my wonderful clients who have become like my family. Last, but not least my mentor & spiritual life coach Sheila Arnold.
