We had the good fortune of connecting with Earth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Earth, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana: A small area called Mischoud but also known as the 9th ward in the eastern area of New Orleans. Growing up, the 9th ward was known for poverty, murder, and robbery… overall high crime. I grew up in a single parent household with 5 siblings, through that experience I was forced to grow up early. Money was tight and there was no sense of stability. Although growing up was rough what I do admire about the The 9th ward and city of New Orleans was the culture, including Mardi Gras, Secondline Sundays, Authentic Creole Food, and The Voodoo. Although the present day crime still affects the youth, what I gained in the environment was tradition, a sense of humor and awareness that I still hold to this day. I can look back and realize how my city molded me into the multi dimensional woman I am today. The energy of the city lives through me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art includes handcrafted jewelry, candles, oils, soaps, and creating altars. A large majority of my products are handmade and 1/1. This year, I’m excited about finally opening my storefront and having all my inventory readily accessible. I got to where I am today (as Nipsey Hussle would say) through dedication, hard work, patience! Creating any brand from the ground up is never easy but I’ve overcome through my vision and strong perseverance. I’ve learned to use my trial and errors to elevate and never give up on myself. Despite the odds of growing up through hard times and healing myself through cancer in 2015-2016, I’ve shifted all my energy into my brand. I want to leave a legacy behind, leaving financial freedom for generations to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Showing a friend the city for the first time, we’d kick off the trip heading to Congo Square. Congo Square is a historical park known for being sacred grounds to ancestral practices including music, dance, praise and honoring indigenous traditions. Today you’ll find the park is kept alive through similar activities including vendors selling their homemade products and artifacts straight from the source.

Next, we’d head to “Original Thought NOLA” , Ital Garden and Vegan Snack Shack: My favorite 3 Plant-Based restaurants.
Here you’ll find the authentic taste famous to New Orleans but a healthier alternative.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout out my cousin, Roxann @thetattoogypsy on IG. Together we’ve pushed one another on our creative journey and now currently working towards opening a physical storefront which will hold space for all spiritual tools, altar supplies, handcrafted jewelry etc. including an indigenous style tattoo studio. In the future we hope to host events for artists of all genres.
