We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Vicki High and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Vicki, how do you think about risk?
Being a risk taker has opened doors for me in business. When I take calculated risks, it has resulted in exploring ways of learning that entertain and educate with a flair. When people laugh, they learn more. That’s my story and I’ve seen the results decade after decade. One engagement was an extensive multi-week training program, and the client requested a curriculum review. I suggested a ‘rap’ to w’rap’ it up. After the initial push back from the instructors, I explained I would write the rap. They would just have to perform it. They went “all in” and did a fabulous job of selling it. The other part of the review was to engage the participants. They were assigned topics by group, wrote their rap and then performed. One group even added break-dancing to the mix. It was fun, informative and everybody was engaged in the learning process.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For the longest time, I operated in two completely different worlds with two different hats. One was the corporate training professional and the other was the founder of Heart 2 Heart Healing. After considerable review, I decided I wanted to become whole. I wanted to combine both parts of my business. CE2O, Inc. was created. C for Corporate Training Endeavors, E2 for Energy, Enlightenment, and Empowerment, and O for Opportunities. It hasn’t been easy, but it is improving. The more comfortable I become with being whole, the easier it is for people to accept it. Then the results are amazing. I have been the Mayor of Crandall, Texas, the Founder of Heart 2 Heart Healing, and the successful, award-winning CEO and Corporate Training Facilitator. People have a hard time putting me in a specific box. We are innovative, creative, and have a lot of experience to provide what you need for employee training, health and well-being. We do it with a smile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spots is located at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital on Hall and Gaston Ave. The renowned Dr. Flatt, a orthopedic surgeon, collected bronze hands from famous people. You can see Astronauts, Presidents, World Leaders, Sports Heroes, Writers, Pianists, Celebrities and more. It is fascinating to see the hands of people you have previously only read about in text books. The bronzed hands show details and make you wish you’d had the opportunity to interview them about life and their impressions. I take all my out of town company. It’s free. The other spots are the Arboretum, because there’s so much to see there. Then there is Thanksgiving Square. In the lovely setting with a water feature and beautiful trees, the chapel contains a spiral ceiling made of stained glass. Over the years, the building has deteriorated due to vandalism, but the ceiling is magnificent and is something to enjoy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Heart 2 Heart Healing Practitioners learn and then share their knowledge and gifts with the world. They make a difference by providing help for people with physical injuries and illnesses, mental stress, emotional baggage and spiritual enlightenment. They act not only as my students, but also my teachers. The teaching is based on Heart 2 Heart Connections: Miracles All Around Us, and although my name is listed as the author, the experiences of all these amazing souls are the reason it could be written.
