We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Frank and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is what life is made of. If there were no risks then my business would not be where it is today. The risks involved included: potentially spending hundreds on my business and not getting that money back in return, not getting any customers, and/or giving up. There are risks involved with anything you do; the true test is seeing if you can endure them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My blog is my safe space. It’s where I can write about anything. I use it as a platform to express my thoughts about any topic I feel like writing about. I also, create natural products. I have a facial cleansing serum out right now that can be purchased on my blog site. I am proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone. Never have I ever imagined having my own business. It has taken a lot of research to get to where I am today. Granted, you never should stop researching. That just comes with the territory of having your own business. You never stop learning! It’s not going to be easy, it wasn’t for me. Having a baby, working full-time, recently enrolled in grad school, let’s just say I’m tied up. I overcame these challenges by dividing my time up and using a calendar. I’ve learned that you can’t have everybody in your space. Everyone does not have the best intentions. Also, choose to focus on you and building your business because outside influences can get the best of you. I want the world to know that my story isn’t your story. Every person writes their own story.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to personally thank my family and friends for supporting me and being there. The one person that deserves most of the credit is my boyfriend. He helps me with getting customers’ orders out fast and efficiently. If I’m thinking about creating a new product he is always the first to know and give me support.
