We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Vick Gupta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Vick, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success has been building everything — from our office culture to our patient experience — around genuine human connection. At Gupta Smile Studio, we’re not just straightening teeth; we’re creating a space where people feel seen, cared for, and excited about their smiles. That kind of trust only comes when you lead with authenticity.

We’re a husband-and-wife team who took a leap of faith together — starting a business, getting married, and buying our first home all within a year. That personal investment shows up in everything we do. We treat our patients like family, and our team shares the same energy and values. The modern, warm, and welcoming vibe of our office wasn’t created by accident — it’s the product of intentional design and a lot of heart.

Of course, clinical excellence matters, and we take that seriously. But we’ve found that when you combine great orthodontics with a five-star experience rooted in joy and community, word spreads. People don’t just come for treatment — they come because they believe in what we’re building.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Gupta Smile Studio is more than just an orthodontic office, it’s a place where people feel seen, heard, and celebrated. We built it with the intention of creating a space that feels modern, vibrant, and deeply personal. We serve a diverse community in Dallas, and we take pride in creating a welcoming environment that reflects the culture and energy of the neighborhood.

What sets us apart is the way we blend clinical excellence with human connection. We don’t just straighten teeth—we build confidence, trust, and relationships. Every detail, from our open design to the way we communicate with patients, is intentional. We’re not a volume-driven practice; we’re a relationship-driven one.

I’m most proud of the fact that we built this practice from the ground up—literally and figuratively. My wife and I designed the space ourselves, managed construction, and opened doors without a corporate safety net. It was not easy. There were delays, budget pressures, and moments where it felt like too much. But we pushed through by focusing on our shared vision and surrounding ourselves with people who believed in us.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success comes from clarity of purpose. When you know why you’re doing something, and you’re committed to doing it the right way, you’ll find a way through the hard parts. I’ve also learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about being willing to listen, adapt, and grow.

If there’s one thing I’d want the world to know about us, it’s that this is personal. Gupta Smile Studio is a reflection of who we are—not just as professionals, but as people. We care deeply, we hustle hard, and we’re here to make smiles—not just straighter, but brighter in every sense.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d kick things off with dinner at Uchi — that place never misses. Then I’d take them to some of my favorite South Asian spots like Urban Tadka for bold North Indian flavors, and Simply South for an incredible South Indian thali that feels like a warm hug. Mornings would start slow with pastries or quiche at Village Baking Co., and one night we’d catch a movie at Cinépolis in Victory Park — the recliner seats and full menu make it feel like a treat.

We’d definitely spend an afternoon walking around Bishop Arts, which is one of my favorite parts of Dallas — it has such a cool, creative energy. Maybe wrap up the night with karaoke at Casablanca, which is always a good time.

One day would be more chill — maybe a trip to the Dallas Arboretum, especially if the weather’s good, or exploring the Perot Museum — it’s one of those places that makes you feel like a kid again.

But honestly, the biggest highlight would be introducing them to my community here. A lot of my closest friends live right in my neighborhood. People like Dr. Anthony Ngo, Dr. Matt Miller, Alexa Mendez, Josh Allen, Kunal, Binal, Danny, Alessia, Daniel, and Mel — they’re all doing inspiring things and are just great humans to be around. That community is a huge part of why Dallas feels like home.

So yeah, the itinerary would be part foodie tour, part nature and culture, and a lot of just hanging with good people.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely, that shoutout goes to my wife, Niti. None of this would exist without her. She’s been there every step of the way, not just as my life partner, but as my partner in building this practice from the ground up. From the late nights strategizing to designing every inch of our office. Literally she poured her heart into making Gupta Smile Studio feel like an extension of our home.

She’s an incredibly talented designer, but beyond that, she’s the soul of the space. Patients feel it the moment they walk in — warm, thoughtful, and full of intention. She believed in this vision even on the hard days, and pushed me to think bigger, go bolder, and stay grounded in our values.

So yeah, this journey is ours and any success I have is just as much hers. I couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else.
