We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorsharica Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorsharica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process for D’Exquisite Styles was to be an exceptional service to woman with distinct boutique pieces. I wanted to offer the traditional boutique experience but with a curated approach. My boutique also had to have offerings of style assistance in varied options.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am what’s termed a Dual-pernuer.
By day I work as Operations and Logistics Manager with Healthy Leading a Organizational Health company.,
I am also the Owner and Style Consultant with D’Exquisite Styles!
D’Exquisite Styles was born of passion. Passion for customer service guided Style experiences. With a bent toward being well dressed and distinctly different, I pursue excellence in presence as an only option.
Having worked with two companies in the direct sales industry, I was frustrated and knew I wanted my own. I have a business degree with a marketing/sales focus. I love talking to people and seeing transition!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Jackie’s coming to town! We’re going to eat and shop all weekend.
Friday morning when she arrives we’re going to breakfast/brunch at Kitchen & Koctails.
We’ll head over to Deep Elim for some culture!
Next we’re going to Outlet mall in Grapevine. We will have lunch at Pappadeaux’s near the airport. Next will head over to the house for rest. Friday night we will go over to a little pub I like in McKinney jazz and girl time chat.
Saturday will begin our day with breakfast at home. Jack is going to hang out with me at the boutique and will create some luxe for her for her to use later. For lunch we’re going to head down to downtown McKinney to browse the shops into grab a meal at spoons. Will head back to my (Boutique) for some appointment and to close the shop Saturday evening we will get dressed here to the galleria to eat at Oceanaire.
Send it we will head to the early service at church afterwards we will have a family brunch or and get Jackie back to the airport Sunday afternoon. we had a ball all weekend!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love this part!
I want to firstly dedicate this to my God-Mother, Katherine Lyndi Smith, who is no longer with us, for planting the seeds of fashion assurance, attraction to district garments, the feel of quality, an array of closets, buying and selling as well as a great fashion show!
I further dedicate this to my mother, Sharon and my Aunt Stacey for providing me with a full wardrobe every Christmas, exposing me to Boutique’n as a child and telling me I was “CLEAN” when I got dressed!
And to my Husband Everett and my children Everett III and Essence putting up with all my picture day antics, Easter parade antics and the launch of D’Exquisite!! I love you All!
Lastly, to all the Boutique trailblazers, thanks for keeping my pallet wet!
