Meet Donna Jung | Founder & Owner of Caylo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Donna Jung and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donna, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself, the single most important decision I made that contributed to my success at Caylo was choosing to stay deeply connected to my customers. I made it a priority to truly understand their needs, lifestyle, and preferences not just as shoppers, but as people. That connection shaped everything from the products I curated to the way I trained my team. It built trust and loyalty, and that genuine relationship is what helped Caylo grow into more than just a boutique, it became a community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Caylo is more than just a women’s boutique, it’s a reflection of who I am, what I love, and the community I care so deeply about. It’s a thoughtfully curated space where fashion, gifting, and lifestyle meet, but at the heart of it all is connection. I wanted Caylo to feel personal, like you’re walking into a space created for you, and that’s exactly what I set out to build.
What sets Caylo apart is the intentionality behind every product we carry. From cozy everyday pieces to special gifts, I handpick items with quality, comfort, and versatility in mind. But more than that, I think what makes us different is the feeling you get when you shop with us, whether in person or online. We’re not about trends for the sake of trends. We’re about style that fits your life, speaks to your story, and feels like you.
I’m incredibly proud of how far Caylo has come. I started this journey as a Korean-American mom of three daughters, with no storefront, just a laptop, a big dream, and a strong belief that I could create something special. I worked markets, packed orders in between school pickups, and did every pop-up I could. One of the turning points early on was being given the opportunity by Flea Style to sell in her store and pop-up on-site. At that time, I didn’t have a brick-and-mortar, so that exposure gave my customers a way to actually experience Caylo in person, and it truly helped the brand grow.
Building Caylo hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to navigate burnout, self-doubt, and the challenges of balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship. But I’ve learned so much along the way. I’ve learned that growth comes from showing up consistently, even when it’s hard. I’ve learned to trust my gut, lean into community, and not be afraid to pivot when needed. Most of all, I’ve learned that staying true to my vision matters more than doing what everyone else is doing.
What I want people to know is that Caylo is built on grit, heart, and authenticity. It’s not just a business, it’s a part of my story. It represents hard work, risk-taking, and the deep love I have for creating beautiful experiences for others. I hope when people shop with us, they don’t just find something they love. They feel seen, valued, and inspired.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit me in Dallas, I’d give her a mix of everything.. great food, local spots, and a little pampering, Korean-style!
We’d head to King Spa for a full Korean jjimjilbang experience. Saunas, body scrubs, and total relaxation.
We’d shop local at Dallas Farmers Market and visit Caylo at Grandscape, of course! I’d treat her to a little styling session and let her take home a few of our best-sellers. For coffee, we’d stop by La La Land Kind Café or get Boba something sweet and cute.
If she wants a trendy night out, we’d grab dinner at Saemaeul KBBQ and finish with drinks at the karaoke bar. But if we’re craving something chill, a backyard hang with wine, Korean snacks, and good conversation is just as perfect.
Dallas is so diverse, there’s a little bit of everything here, and I love how I can blend my Korean roots with all the local charm and creativity this city has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A heartfelt thank you to Flea Style for giving me the opportunity to showcase Caylo in her store during our early days. Being a vendor and popping up in her space gave my brand visibility at a time when I didn’t yet have a physical storefront, just an online presence. Her platform allowed people to experience Caylo in person, which played a big part in helping me grow the business.
