Meet Dominique Williams | Maternity Gown Rental

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My husband and I have been blessed to experience the joys of pregnancy twice in 2016 and 2019. During both pregnancies I struggled with finding formal wear that was comfortable and reasonably priced. During my first pregnancy I settled for a non-maternity gown and during the second pregnancy I purchased an expensive maternity gown that I only wore once.

It was my personal experiences with being an expecting mother that helped me begin laying the foundation for ShopMom2B. I had a vision of creating a service that was would be beneficial to other expecting mothers searching for gowns. Together my husband and I launched ShopMom2B in February 2020. Our mission was to provide women across the country with an online store where they could rent comfortable, affordable gowns for a single occasion such as maternity photoshoots, baby showers, gender revels, weddings etc.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Although our targeted audience is expecting mothers, our gowns can also be used for non-maternity. In addition to expecting mothers we also recent to photographers and event planners. We are based out of Dallas-Fort Worth but we have a footprint all over the United states. We ship gowns from coast to coast daily.

What sets us a part is our motto Rent It. Rock It. Return It.™ We make the rental process easy for all to follow. Our customers select the gown that that they want to rent from our available inventory. We ensure that the gown arrives at least two days before their event for them to try it on for size. When the event is over the customer simply mails the gown back using a prepaid return label and packaging. ShopMom2B takes care of the sanitizing and cleaning of each gown.

We are most proud of our partnership with Stork Vision. Stork Vision has more than nineteen locations throughout the United States. Each mom that utilizes Stork Visions sonogram services receives an exclusive ShopMom2B offer. Furthermore, we are proud of the relationships and partnerships that we have built with photographers both locally and nationwide.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend come visit for a week I would be sure to take them to the following three places to eat: The truck Yard, The Daquiri Shop and Terry Blacks Barbeque. As for activities I take them to the Stock Yards, Texas State Fair and the Galleria Mall.

I would like to shoutout my Husband Justin for being so supportive of vision. He is part owner of ShopMom2B and contributes a wealth of knowledge and new ways to enhance our bottom line up front.
