We had the good fortune of connecting with Divine Mbaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Divine, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
As of now, I am close to finishing my undergraduate degree in Communications (Journalism and PR) with a minor in International Development. Growing up, I wanted to become a diplomat and travel full-time. After being exposed to the world in numerous ways, I realized that what truly mattered to me wasn’t the position/title but rather the purpose attached: Community Building/Amelioration. I often get asked what my professional end goal is; the answer is simple, I am a Community Builder and I want to see lives transformed.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As I have been working in the media for a little bit over a year now, I have the privilege of hosting, moderating, translating (English and French) and MC events which are seldom nerve-racking but very fulfilling. Through my services, I am able to help people’s important day go as smoothly as possible. I also recently became a Leadership and Personal Development Coach and with my clients, we work together through developing the leaders within themselves in order for them to become an added value for their community as well as setting them up for a successful career.
Although businesses, including mine, are profit-centered, the purpose remains people-centered. What is the gain of making money if one cannot change lives? I am one of those rare people you would meet who genuinely has love and respect for people regardless of their backgrounds. I have started as I mentioned earlier a little over a year ago so I am still building my expertise, however my biggest lesson thus far is that we stop being relevant when we stop learning; not just through formations but also people. Hence leading me to always strive for humility (the ability to unite with others as we cannot do everything by ourselves). There are people that are God-sent to help you fulfill your assignment, identify them and please keep them.
If there is one thing I want the world to know about me or my story is that when in front of a red sea, the boat is the solution, but my faith will part the waters and I will walk on dry land (Those who understood this could be my destiny helpers)
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
