We had the good fortune of connecting with D’IONNA WASHINGTON and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi D’IONNA, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have been a part time Relationship Coach for over a decade. But 3 years ago my Husband retired me from my Corporate job and made me a Kept Wife with the option to work, so I decided to give Coaching my full attention and effort. I began living a life of choice and freedom and I felt like there was a gap in the market, not enough women sharing success stories like mine (getting marriage completely wrong, losing it all, rebounding and marrying well) giving women hope, and being unapologetic about requiring provision from men…..and the Kept Wife Strategist was born!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The primary focus of my business Love Coverage is to reduce the divorce rate in the African American community by preparing professional women (and couples) to marry well and thrive in holy matrimony. This is done through immersive in person experiences, self paced courses, online coaching community, and a series of masterclasses & workshops.

What sets me apart as a coach, is that I’m unapologetic about women requiring provision from men, I inspire women to dream big when deciding what kind of man they desire to marry and I let them know they must become the woman that warrants that type of man.

I’m most proud of the exponential growth we are achieving year over year solely through organic outreach, while I still maintain healthy work/life balance.

I’ve learned along the way to run my own race, not compare my business or coaching style or results to anyone else’s. I have also learned that every client was attracted to me because of something I’m initiating so when I don’t like the results I don’t blame anyone else, I adjust what I’m thinking, saying, and/or doing.

I want the world to know that Black Women still deserve the soft life provided by their husbands no matter how successful they are individually or how much money they make!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For food I would recommend
Yo Lobster for an array of lobster rolls and cocktails in a swanky part of town (Highland Park)

Cookie Society for the absolute best cookies!

Terry Blacks for amazing Barbecue (cafeteria style) Downtown Dallas

For Activity I recommend
Upstairs Circus – a 4hr craft activity with an included glass of wine (perfect date or hangout activity) in Deep Ellum

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mentor, Tasha Chen.

She is the first official paid Coach/Mentor I have had. She has been with me since before I was coaching fulltime. She has watched me evolve through several level ups and iterations of myself. She believed in me so fervently that it caused me to believe in myself more boldly and take great risks in business. She continues to be my Mentor currently and has also blossomed into one of my closest friends.
