We had the good fortune of connecting with Dele Da Poet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dele Da, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business helps the community and the world by providing a platform that encourages expression, connection and culture through authentic art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Two things that have set me apart from others and also the things I am most excited about is my love of art and also my culture. I believe doing something you love gives you constant motivation to power your expression. This also gives you patience through a process that can sometimes seem unmeasurable. Was it is easy? Simple but not easy. As humans, sometimes we make simple things very complicated. I’ve learned many lessons along the way but one very important one is that everything in this life has it’s own timeline. My brand wants the world to know that you are important.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visit me I would drown them in all the diversity that is Dallas culture. I would make sure they get a hat from “Barely Legal” some chicken from Henderson’s, and hit the night scene.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most high God is my pillar and deserves the first shout out. I’ve fallen short from that grace many of times so I’m very thankful for the patience and the life that I’ve been granted. Secondly, shoutout to my family and friends who have sometimes saved me from myself along the way. Finally, shoutout to my influencers. Through the many influencers that I have studied, I have come to realize that “I” myself, is also an influencer that carries influence and charisma.
