We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dee, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by people who live with passion. People who see beyond their current circumstances, to something better, and pursue that vision daily. I’m inspired by seeing others succeed as a result of hard work and persistence. As a therapist, I have the honor and privilege of being invited into people’s lives and witnessing their struggles, their hurts, their hurdles – and then seeing them be brave enough to face those obstacles. Sometimes they face those obstacle with fear and trembling. Sometimes with boldness and confidence. Either way, they are facing them and getting over, around, and through them. That takes courage. That takes persistence. That takes passion and vision for something better.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder and owner of Heal Grow Share, PLLC., a mental health private practice. We have an amazing team of practitioners, each with specific specialities, dedicated to providing personalized counseling, coaching, and consulting. I firmly believe what sets us apart is our warm, client centered, relational approach to working with our clients. I am most proud of our willingness to try new things, to take risks, and to welcome challenges. Our willingness to do so has resulted in unique opportunities to serve more people, partnerships, and growth both individually and as a team. Our business journey has not always been easy. I have had to learn to shift from being solely a therapist, to being a business owner who oversees marketing, finances, training, hiring, customer service and everything in between. I’ve been able to grow as a business owner by being willing to ask questions, accept feedback and suggestions, take risks, make mistakes, and celebrate wins. I’ve learned that we all need others to encourage, support, and help us. A solid, trustworthy team makes us stronger and more effective. And you build a strong, trustworthy team by geniunely caring about each team member, being open and honest, and treating each person on the team the way you want to be treated. My personal story is about healing wounds from the past to create healthy space for personal growth, and then taking the things I learned about healing and growth and sharing them with as many people as possible. Our goal with each client is to create a space for people to heal and grow so they can share the healthiest, best version of themselves with those around them.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
For a relaxing day of beauty and fresh air, we would enjoy the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. And for a special treat, we would be sure to make reservations for Seated Tea at the DeGolyer Tea Room. For a truly Texan experience, we would visit the North Texas Fair and Rodeo in Denton, TX, followed by the absolute best Southern Fried food, at Babe’s Chicken in Frisco, Texas. For an afternoon of relaxing and unwinding, we would go to Eden Hill Winery and Vineyard for some wine tasting and outdoor live music. We would be sure to spend a Saturday in the open air of the Dallas Farmer’s Market. Enjoying the atmosphere, nice people, and fresh produce.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many people along the way who have encouraged, challenged, and supported me. Thank you to those who did not allow me to push them away, who were determined to show me I was worth loving, and who challenged me to rise to my potential. And thank you so much to John Ortberg for the life changing book Soul Keeping! It restored balance to my life and is my go-to reference for restoration and clarity.
