We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayna Tolley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dayna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted something that was my own that I could pass on to my children. I wanted freedom to work for myself and spend more time with my kids.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Events are not only about dreaming up and idea and executing it. The management of the event itself , the people, the details is an art form in itself. I have spent 16 years and a police dispatcher and I can tell you that managing people (officers, citizens) and managing large scale emergency events take a very special talent. I think that is one reason I am so good at events. Not only am I a creative person but I can manage things well from a logistical stand point as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely hit the roof top bars/pools. Anything with a great vibe and a beautiful view of the city. Then of course Fair Park for a Broadway show.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom. She deserves so much credit for making me the person I am today. She has worked hard her entire life to give to make my life better and she still does so today. She encouraged me to go for what my dreams were. She even comes with me to parties to help set up or our favorite thing to conquer is putting together decor items. There were these snowflakes that once took us 4 hours to put together, but she stuck with me the entire time. We are definitely a bonded pair.
