We had the good fortune of connecting with DAMON JAMIL and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DAMON, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end game is to collaboratively build infrastructure & institutions that engage, encourage, educate, and empower the children (navigating the high mortality & high incarceration traps laid out all throughout their impoverished neighborhoods) to take pathways out of poverty that allow them to enfranchise themselves. The key word is “educate” from “educur” meaning to bring out that which is already within a human being. Educational institutions that serve this purpose will be fully operational, as well as, Economic infrastructure being well established, will fully finance the multi-pathways taken out of poverty. By the end of my career, I want to be left alone to remain at peace for the rest of my natural days.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I practice the art of building STRATEGIC relationships with people that are here to work together for a POSITIVE collective impact on the lives of others. I am set apart by my unique FAMILIAL approach to each individual relationship. My art is fueled by my heart, meaning the COMPASSION that burns within, fueled by my PURPOSEFUL desire for a particular outcome drives my efforts OF UNIFYING THE FAMILY. There are DIFFERENT levels to my artistic expression, the highest being the we, us, & ours MINDSET.  It shifts my art into an abundantly RELATIONAL co-creative safe space that allow me to express my artistry in the form COLLECTIVE healing. The journey into my healing arts practice has been beautifully long and difficult at times, yet full of wonderful lessons & blessings. I’ve learned to be grateful in all ways, always. Gratitude was the code breaker for me and my healing arts practice. The giving-receiving cycle is ABUNDANTLY SATISFYING  when it comes from within THE COMMUNITY FAMILY COLLECTIVE.  I want the world to know that with all the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of my heart of hearts, I AM LOVE IN ACTION!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I will take him to all of the places that I enjoy visiting with. I would take them to Recipe Oak Cliff, the New Mexican Vegan House on Jefferson, or Chipotle/Cava to eat. Pan African Connection, African American Museum, and Northnode Sanctuary for culture, and Downtown, Deep Ellum, and Strike & Reel for entertainment. Lake Ray Hubbard, Joe Wilson Lake, and Whiterock Lake for time in Nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

MOST DEFINITELY!! i want to give all praises to THE MOST HIGH SOURCE OF LIGHT, LOVE, & BLESSINGS!!! my mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, mentors, teachers, counselors, coaches, granny & grandpas (real spiritual and surrogate) because we are ONE!!!! I dedicate this to the ANCESTORS, ANGELICS, & ASCENDED MASTERS!!!! THE UNIVERSAL CENTRIPAL & CENTRIFUGAL FORCES PUSHING/PULLING US ALONG! They ALL get their portion of credit & recognition when it comes to me. All represent the We of The Most High God.
