We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Calvert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first entered the bar industry I always knew one day I wanted to own my own bar. I would frequently visit new places and spaces just to get my idea of what I wanted. Little did I know I would go out of my comfort zone with a new industry that exposed me to many more experiences. It always lead back to wanting to own my own bar. I started my business right before the Covid shutdown and right there and then I knew I could mix and serve alcoholic beverages wherever I wanted. That’s when I decided to start mobile bartending. It actually took a couple of years before I decided to add on a horse trailer bar to the business. Which is very popular here in Texas.

What should our readers know about your business?
C Event Bartending is a mobile bartending company. We are very experienced in bartending on client’s special events. Whether it be a wedding, birthday party, retirement party, anniversary. We thoroughly enjoy being there for people’s special moments in life.
Starting C Event Bartending was very challenging in the beginning. Just starting out and not knowing exactly how to productively get our name out there was a full time job in itself. Once we were getting terrific reviews from satisfied clients we now had positive affirmation and the drive to do our best!
There were a few obstacles to overcome. Building a great team takes time and trust. With any business owner it is very stressful to put your clients and day of duties into someone else’s hands. Once I found those team members I could trust to do the work as if I would, made it much easier. The team is what makes this business succeed. We all want to do our best for the clients and make sure we take any stress from them so that they can enjoy their special day and share it with their loved ones.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely a few spots to go would be:
Addison Improv- good stand up comedy
Waters restaurant in Fort Worth
Texas Live in Arlington- for many different adventures.
House of blues in Dallas – for a great show.
Botanical gardens in Fort Worth
Stockyards in Fort Worth
Cowtown Winery in Fort Worth
The amber room in Fort Worth for great cocktails.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely have to acknowledge my significant other. We had to juggle our crazy schedule with our 3 boys, personal, and work lives to make my business a success.
My parents and close family were always there for me when I had any questions or needed any additional help with getting the ball rolling and staying above water.
To my baby boy for always being a good boy while having to be on a lot of my ventures for errands, hand offs, and shopping. My biggest, little helper.
