We had the good fortune of connecting with Collette Flowers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Collette, what principle do you value most?
Celebration & Collaboration – Mata Hari House was built with the intention of creating a versatile and beautifully curated event space in which small businesses, artisans, and vendors could come together to create valuable experiences for clientele. We serve as a home for clients to celebrate life’s milestones while also supporting local business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Please tell us more about your business : Mata Hari House is many things – A showroom and art gallery as well as a private and public place to host specialty events. We focus on community here and creating a place of celebration. This Saturday, April 16th, from 3:00-8:00PM we will host our first indoor and outdoor pop up market “In Bloom”. All participating vendors will help clients shop for last minute Easter items including art, retail, baked goods, and charcuterie boxes. We will also be hosting a Bloom Bar (build your own flower bouquet bar), and hosting spring photo sessions with our professional photographer Pixel Perfect Rose.

We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others :

DFW has many event spots, none of which are fully curated and furnished. Mata Hari House is made up of different unique rooms to utilize such as our – Private Dining Room, Main Banquet, Tea Room, Parlor, and Catering Kitchen. We are able to utilize this unique space in many different ways. For instance, during “In Bloom”, each vendor will have a full room take over where they can sell their products or services.

What you are most proud of or excited about :

Currently, I am most excited about continuing to grow a collaborative space for vendors and clients to celebrate and thrive. From public ticketed events to more intimate private events, Mata Hari House has great opportunity ahead!

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? :

I was able to collect a lot of knowledge from working in the advertising industry. This has been a huge help in getting a closer look at a variety of past client’s businesses and how they were able to thrive and fill a need in the market. Challenges arise everyday, you just have to accept them and try your best to work with the given circumstances.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way? :

– Working together is MUCH more rewarding and exciting than doing it alone.

– The art of celebration comes in many different forms.

– That the most important quality in business and in life, is the ability to see hidden opportunity, then to devise a plan to reveal it. When we work together, we can create the impossible. I strongly believe, this is the way forward!

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story? :

That my story is constantly progressing and changing and that Mata Hari House is a place for new faces, voices, and opportunities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you to the Dallas community for supporting Mata Hari House and for trusting us to curate and host your special events. Also, a huge shoutout to the team and vendors of our upcoming pop up market, “In Bloom”. I have worked with an amazing team of people to curate our In Bloom event, including Rose Scoggins owner of Pixel Perfect Rose (Photography Company), Keisha Spears owner of Passionately Created (Event Planning), Don Short owner of Roxor Gin (In Bloom’s Official Sponsor), and our fabulous group of vendors.

These brands and people are what bring value to Mata Hari House.
