We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Hampton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was to start investing in myself so that I could take control of my destiny, grow and challenge myself personally. One significant driving force was for my family and to provide more opportunities for them. I also aimed to build something more than just another real estate office. I wanted to build something that was aimed at actually helping agents grow into their full potential without taking a big portion of their commissions. In addition, to train agents that the client is top priority when handling any transaction.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is Magnet Realty. We are one of the only Real Estate Brokerages in Anna, TX. We recently opened back in April 2023 and have a total of 3 agents currently (including myself). What sets us apart from others are, our focus is to bring in agents that have the mindset of client FIRST, provide access to the broker for questions, be involved in the community and provide an environment for our agents to know they are important and not just a number.

I got to where I am today by focusing on my clients needs, being patient and not rushing my clients into a transaction. There are several hours needed in order to become a broker, so I took several classes and studied night after night to pass the exams. My wife and I searched for a location carefully and we were able to secure a good location to open the brokerage. The challenges were there, however a challenge is an opportunity to find a solution around it, over it or though it. The lesson that I learned would probably be to keep pushing and don’t slow down because success maybe closer than you think.

I am not sure that there is anything I would like the world to know about Magnet Realty but I feel like eventually the name will speak for itself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that have most influenced me are my dad Michael Pouncey; he has always been encouraging and uplifting whenever I had any doubts about the process. My wife, Meca Hampton and my 2 daughters, Krista & Laila are always an inspiration for me. They always believed in me and are always here to help.

There are several books that have guided me on this journey but I think the most influential would have to be David Goggins You Can’t Hurt Me. I choose this particular book because he talks about how you can push yourself past so many things when you gain control of your mind.
