We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheyenne Valentine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheyenne, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Loving what I do is the most important factor behind my success. My business wouldn’t have thrived unless I was 100% dedicated to my work. I love being able to make people feel beautiful and special whenever they come in. What I do doesn’t even feel like a job, it is so important that you like what you do. If you’re doing something only because it’s trendy or you know that you can make a lot of money with it, you will not succeed. Being passionate about my business and my work I think is the number one factor in being successful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
From my clients I’ve heard what sets me apart from others is that I am judgment free. Some clients have complained that other aestheticians have made them feel bad about having acne or a skin condition. With me that’s never the case I’m here to help my clients and to make them feel comfortable. I’m most proud of starting a business on my own at such a young age. Many of my clients are impressed with me when they find out that I’m only 20 and I started by business when I was 19. I’ve gotten to where I am today with dedication and hard work it’s definitely been a long journey and I’m still improving every day. One major challenge was finding a skin care company to use it took me seriously. When I went to a skincare convention I felt like many of the companies weren’t listening to me and focused on other people based on how young I was. However, I kept looking for other companies to work with and I’ve always been very professional and the people who actually care have noticed my hard work and how serious I am about my business. What I would want the world to know about myself is that I’m just getting started. I want to continue my education, increase my social media influence, and provide more services for my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start my friend out with a nice pampering by coming to a DFW Aesthetics in Denton, TX for a facial. Then I would take my friend to my favorite shopping spot in Denton Juliets jewels where you can see some of the best gems and jewelry that are hand-picked by lady from India and she comes back to United States and sells them. Then we would go to Plano and shop at Legacy West and probably go to my favorite Italian restaurant North Italia. I also love Carrollton if you want to be immersed in the Korean and Japanese culture I love going to H Mart and getting some yummy snacks and going to Mr. dumplings. Also checking out Daiso to shop and Teso Life for amazing Korean skincare. I also love to be outside so going to the Dallas Arboretum or the Fort Worth water gardens would definitely be a great place to visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and dad deserves a shout out. My parents have always pushed me to do what I love and do it at my own pace. I was never pressured to do what they wanted me to do they gave me every outlet to be creative and decide what I wanted to do. I was nervous to tell them that I wasn’t going to college and that I wanted to go to aesthetician school but they believed in me. They saw the same vision that I saw. They helped me renovate a room in our house to fit all the legal qualifications to run a salon from your house. Without them I probably would’ve done the stereotypical route and gone to college then working 9 to 5 office job that I wouldn’t have loved and been as passionate about as I am aesthetics.
