We had the good fortune of connecting with Charo Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose an artistic career to be able to express myself freely. To leverage my God-given talent and abilities to create financial freedom. Lastly, to create an opportunity for my loved ones to live a life that was unfathomable.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I first began recording music professionally at 10 years old, long before I knew I would pursue a career. Seeing my dad build his own quarter-million dollar recording studio and attending the O-Zone Awards while I was in elementary school instantly infiltrated my desires and hunger for success in the music industry. While living in a single parent household with just my mom and I, I took to music to articulate my imagination in my free time. What began as a hobby became a lifelong commitment. Fast forward to 2013 when I made the decision to dropout of college after 1 semester to pursue a music career.. what felt like all of my mother’s hard work down the drain, was the biggest and best decision I made in my life. For me. My mother and I moved homes every single year from 6th grade-12th, so due to all of the friends/acquaintances I made over this time, my fan base had already created itself naturally, spanning from the Oakcliff to Denton, Tx. Adapting to how the music industry transitions over the years, I’ve been able to generate a respectable amount of income while maintaining full ownership of my career and profits. I’ve been blessed to perform with artist like Kodak Black and Nipsey Hussle, festivals like SXSW, and numerous college campuses without management or a label. In this journey I’ve sacrificed a college education, love, friends, and Countless amounts of US Dollars, but I would do over again every single time. Forever LaFamilia is built on Loyalty.. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like to be in the mix so on the weekend you can catch me at The Village Pool and Deep Ellum. Sporting Club, Citizen, Bottled Blonde.. Me and the bros are the life of the party so you can’t miss us. Best food in the world in Nandos Peri Peri in Addison but you can’t wrong with Ronnie’s Catfish, Gus’s Fried Chicken or Rodeo Goat. For chill vibes I’ll stroll through Farmers Garden and Art Park or pull up to a fashion show/pop up event. Gotta get some shopping in wherever I see a nice piece

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to all of my family, friends, & supporters for their loyalty and love over the last 10 years. & To my mom and dad, I love you infinitely. Forever LaFamilia
