We had the good fortune of connecting with Charles Denton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charles, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Our focus is on natural wellness. We use organic dried herbs, formulated into products that include essential oils, salves, healing butters, liniments, and other mediums for topical application. Chasfragrance also offers organic tea blends to help with other issues. What we have noticed is that many people don’t know the benefits that natural plants provide. Many know about herbs (plants), but are not familiar with the medicinal benefits these herbs provide. Without being technical, many don’t realize that the very strengths of survival that a plant has and uses to protect itself, is the same medical value that it imparts to our bodies when we use the herb either internally or topically. Most know about teas, and how they can help strengthen the body. However, many don’t understand that these same plants when formulated into products that you apply topically, can relieve the symptoms of pain, serve as a tonic to the various body parts depending on which herb(plant) you use. These products can be used safely.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We initially started out selling Body Oils. We then offered essential oils. Then we were all hit with Covid-19. Covid-19 taught us a valuable lesson: we need to strengthen our bodies in a natural holistic way. What we eat, the way we relieve life’s bumps and bruises, even our daily habits, really impact our bodies and how our body strives to maintain balance. Business is just like that, you have to change as you learn what it is that customers are looking for. People change, circumstances change. That is what business is all about. Our journey we feel as been slow and hopefully thoughtful. We wanted to provide customers with a unique fragrance so they could command the attention of the ones they engaged with. We still strive to provide that. However, we also found that how a person feels inside is just as important. So now our business says that internal wellness, along with a unique scent, gives life a balance that allows us to enjoy those we engage with in a more complete way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
West End area would serve to provide a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out would be to nature. Yes as far fetched as that sounds, it is to life as expressed through plants. Sometimes we get so hung up on big things that we fail to see what is under our feet. It does bring to mind a book I read years ago; ‘Acres of Diamonds’. A man sold everything to chase wealth, only to find out that the most precious diamonds was under his feet on his own property. That story tells us so much. We search for the greatest relief from either our physical pains or emotional pain only to find that everything we need is right under our feet. The shout out is to remember that if we sit down and reflect, many of our issues either present their own resolution, or direct us to what we need. Yes there are people and groups that have influenced me on my path. But when I really look at what has been accomplished, it always boils down to making a decision. So my shout out is the symbolism that plants provide. They are always there, but we have to recognize them and avail ourselves of their attributes.
