Meet Cesilia Land | Cesilia Owner of MJCJ Party Central

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesilia Land and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cesilia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to be able to do something I enjoy and also be able to spend time and go to school events with my boys and not be away from home all the time. Crafting has always been apart of my life I always enjoyed creating and making things for my family’s events and now that my boys are bigger we thought about creating a family business which we came up with MJCJ Party Central… creating customizable party favors and soon we will be offering rentals as well. I came up with the name around my boys names…. Michael, Joseph, Christopher & Jacob .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At MJCJ party Central we create customizable party favors, cake toppers, labels for treats, standup characters, invitations, and much more we design based on a clients event theme or color scheme. I am very big on customer service and communication while working on designing clients items I communicate on the steps and as well as approval on final drafts for the final product.. I am all about fulling the clients order and making sure they are satisfied with their product. With the help of my husband and close family I have been able to get all my tools and materials I need for the business and they are the best at helping me market our business and 90% of clients are referred by someone which I am truly grateful for.

It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today and I am still learning with all the software I use it is a daily learning process. Which I do a lot of research when I am trying out a new item/design. At the beginning of my journey I did have plenty of errors and struggled having them corrected but taking breaks like getting a cup a coffee or relaxing with the boys has helped me to get back to work and figuring out what my problem was.

Running your own business is not a easy task and it is not a over night process that will get you where you want in one day. It is a everyday process and as each day passes you see the growth.

I love creating items for my clients it makes me happy to see them excited for their items and their pictures the day of their event it is a awesome feeling.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Deep Ellum/Downtown Dallas one of my favorite spots right now to eat is Hatti B’s I love their Hot chicken..

Main Event is a great place to take the family for a fun time as they also have food & drinks

Another little spot to hang out and drink is Free Play in Richardson if your into the arcade scene this is the place to go..

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my husband Christopher land who has supported all my ideas since day one and has pushed me to reach all my goals even if it’s a small short term goal he has given his all to keep me motivated and to keep striving for the best for all of us at home. And also to my mother Maria Osorio who has helped me grow and has also pushed me to reach my goals and so much more.. and without our customers we wouldn’t be growing if it wasn’t for them we truly appreciate each and every one of them .
