Meet Casey Escario | Certified Personal Trainer & Texas A&M Graduate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Casey Escario and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Casey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In February 2020, my one-week spring break turned into quarantine with an undefined end date. I went from constantly being on the move between school, work, and the gym.. to watching Netflix and eating junk food all day everyday. My mental and physical health was on a rapid decline. After weeks of being stuck in my room, I decided that being inactive and sluggish was not for me. I began doing consistent at-home or outdoor workouts and cooking healthy meals. In just a couple months, I experienced a dramatic change to my body and health as I had an immense amount of time to focus on myself. I started a fitness page in hopes of encouraging others to get active in the comfort of their homes or at a nearby park. Being isolated at home was not the easiest task in the world for the majority of us, especially when we were stripped of our normal, busy life. By starting a fitness page, I was hoping that I could influence others by using fitness and a healthy diet as an outlet from the harsh realities of being in quarantine. The first few weeks of starting my page, I gained hundreds of followers and received countless inquiries to create personal workout and meal plans. Then I thought, “Why not make this a business?” My dream has always been to make money doing something that I truly have a passion for, so this was the perfect opportunity to live my dream. By August 2020, Body by Bryant Fitness was an LLC, I was a certified personal trainer, I had about 50 client results, I sold over 1000 workout and meal plans, had 20 brand ambassadors, and launched a fitness wear line.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In December 2020, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. Biology degree. My goal is to get accepted into Physician Assistant school by the end of 2022 and eventually become a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery. The first step of my journey was completing undergrad at my top choice, and now I am an Aggie for the rest of my life. Undergrad was, by far, the hardest time period of my life. The majority of my time as a student, I was getting 10-15 hours of sleep a week as I was studying almost 100 hours a week. As stressful as it was, the rewarding feeling that I got as I walked the stage was worth every second I spent in the Annex Library. All the lessons I learned pushed me to be responsible, accountable, resourceful, and determined. Although I am nowhere near my career goal, everything I do is to become one step closer to that white coat. My main objective in life is to help those in need. As a personal trainer, I want to help people become the best versions of themselves through fitness and a healthy diet. As a physician assistant, I want to help people through healthcare. In both fields, I aim to be the person that looks at each client/patient with genuine care in a judgement-free zone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love this question because I genuinely think Dallas is the best city ever. In Dallas, there is an abundance of places to go to have a great time. If my best friend wanted to go out for drinks and food, I’d take her to Harris’ House of Heroes, Turkey D.A.M., STIRR, Clutch, or XOXO. If she wanted to get some work done at a coffee shop, I’d take her to Soiree. If she wanted to go bowling or ride go-karts, I’d take her to Andretti. For sight seeing, I’d take her to the Giant Eyeball, Klyde Warren Park, Reunion Tower, the Botanical Garden, or to see the Dallas Skyline. Downtown Dallas is my go-to!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
– [ ] The first group of people that come to mind when it comes to the success of my business are my brand ambassadors, hands down. I truly thank God for bringing such amazing, inspiring, motivating, and supportive people into my life. Maintaining a healthy and active life consistently is a challenge within itself, but having a group of people that had similar goals as me truly helped my journey each and every day. Each day when I would check the group message, I would see words of encouragement, questions being answered, progress pictures, etc. It was extremely heartwarming and motivating. Every time I needed help or needed a favor, someone was always quick to jump to my rescue. Aside from my brand ambassadors, I just want give a huge thanks to my followers and all of my clients that believed in me. I couldn’t have gotten to where I am today without my clients pushing themselves every single day to reach their goals. Even when the journey got tough, they believed in themselves and the plans I made for them, and continued pushing.
