Meet Caitie Ginn | Embroiderer | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitie Ginn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I wouldn’t say that we are completely successful but depends on how you measure it. But no matter what, the key to success is to truly care about your customers, for small businesses that is. We genuinely love meeting new people, customer or not, and we rarely forget a face. We take the time to talk to as many customers as we can [at markets] and explain who we are and what we do. If anyone likes a certain piece we give them the backstory. There’s a lot of love that goes into what we produce for our customers because they are so important to us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most of my life I have been creative. I grew up doing crafts and sewing with my mom but I never considered myself as an artist. It wasn’t until 2020 that I finally felt like I could allow myself to put that title to my name. It finally dawned on me that I was, in fact, an artist because I was creating “works of art” with the pieces I was making. Each item I embroider has a design that is picked for that piece. Sometimes I know when we purchase it what’ll go on it, other times it sits in our blanks closet waiting for the idea to hit us. This process came naturally to me and creating the images or designs to put on a garment is a lot of fun. I face more challenges in other areas of business. I attribute my creativeness to being a pisces and being a dreamer. It is extremely important to me to have that creative outlet or else I become stagnant and feel pent up. My only hope for anyone who stumbles across us, is that they are able to immediately tell that 99% our pieces aren’t commercial, they are handpicked and designed in our artistic touch.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, between home life, actual work and Lonestar Galaxy, we don’t get out much. With that being said, we would show them around Fort Worth by going downtown, to the stockyards or South Fort Worth. We love that south main has been revitalized and frequent that area as we do a lot of shows there as well. We love to go to Lola’s for live music, Bearded Lady for brunch, Twilight for late night drinks and comedy. Fort Worth has grown so fast that it’s hard to keep up!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, shout out to all the other vendors that have become a great source of friends and community for us. At every show we do, there’s always a helping hand or someone to cheers to at the end of the day. We love all of our vendor homies and would have had a lot harder of a go since 2019 if they weren’t such a great community of people. Last but certainly not least, venues/hosts/organizers. Without them, there wouldn’t be markets which we personally count on for most of our sales. Nearly all of the venues have been very accommodating and know how to get the vibes right which is cruical for vendors to make money and for customers to want to engage and spend their hard earned money. Many many thanks to all the other local and small businesses that make the DFW market scene what it is and the support they have for each other.
