We had the good fortune of connecting with Bruce Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bruce, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Dallas,Tx from a neighborhood that claims a HBCU (Paul Quinn College). Coming up in neighborhood you had too be tough;adapt but at the same time learn grace. See a lot of the city saw my people as underdogs but really we’re just a rose growing from the concrete. With this mentality I’ve grown to see the beauty in every aspect of life, don’t judge a book by it’s cover & run your own race.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my podcast/production company in 2020 during the pandemic, a former co-worker of mines (QuinwiththrKeys) told me about a studio that could help produce my show. As previously I had tried to produce my show but with no equipment or consistency issues or just life, my attempts had stalled. With the events that had occurred during the pandemic it inspired me too once again try too produce my show. I told a few friends I was going to produce a show and they were elated so naturally the show flowed, I wanted to bring world information but with a urban flavor. I just wanted my family and friends to be informed and actually understand how our world is changing daily. The challenges that come with this is consistency and competing with bigger news platforms which can be discouraging. The main thing I’ve learned is stay consistent and give back to the people that your asking to support you, put that good back in the universe. My team & I are campaigning for excellence and we want everyone who support us to understand that they are rare and can make a change starting from with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city full of things to do…for sure let’s get active so Athletic Zone in Trinity Groves or the YMCA for fun cardio (basketball or swimming). I love smoothies so JuiceLand or Pressed for a nice cool refreshing snack. Food wise light but heavy, let’s take them to FlowerChild or Cava if not we go to Williams Chicken or FuelCity for tacos. We can go bar hopping in deep Ellum or Lower Greenville, maybe dress up and go to The Monarch. If my chill friends are in town a bowling alley or Escaperoom. Barnes & Noble or brunch on Sunday at Breadwinners l, if it’s football season just know it’s a party every literally(Dallas Cowboy fan) but just know we have a lot to do just depends on the vibes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My group of people that help me everyday Monica, Coach King, Keyah, Quincy, Sameriyah, Qualin,Jamila,Krystal, Catherine(Dallas on Air). These beautiful people help me come up with content, push out the content, they bring energy to the set, help with giving back to the community. Without them “The Campaign” would not be able to push our mission which is too “Inspire, Love & Legacy”. I also want to shoutout my guy Tony Monk (Spot on Sports) he helped me with my craft by introducing me to Mr. Tony Key where i put in countless hours working on my craft. I parlayed that opportunity to go with Tony (Monk) and do more live broadcasting, interviews etc. Thank you for believing in me. Lastly I want to shoutout myself, for stepping into my purpose even when I was down. I never gave up on myself and always knew it was something greater.
